Known Issues & Problems with Giant Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Can you identify which part of the battery fits tight and apply some silicon grease to it? If it's simply being tight the friction plays a big role so some lubricant may help. By the way, being tight doesn't necessarily mean it's better against moisture. It needs to be sealed and my battery...

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

Has anyone looked at the power readings? It does seem to measure your pedaling power (not overall power including motor) but not sure about accuracy.

    Revolt E+ Motor = EP8

Looking at the US E-bike classification, the class 3 puts a lot of restrictions to it - only allowed on the road or bike paths. Most other paths regular bikes are allowed cannot be ridden on class 3 bikes. So this means the sole use for class 3 is either commuting or road cycling?

    2021 Roam E+ GTS

It's very close to the start/end point on the map shown on the first post here...

    Revolt E+ Motor = EP8

In Canada assist speed is limited to 32Km/h and max power of 500W, which is closer to Class 2 in US.

    Roam E+ Chain Popped Off

I find it interesting that the new Revolt E+ 2022 model now has the chainguard according to the photo - https://www.giant-bicycles.com/ca/revolt-eplus-2022. Perhaps this is a widespread issue on all single speed chainring setups on their E-bikes.

    Roam E+ Chain Popped Off

Roam E+ comes with Shimano HG200, 9-speed, 11x36 cassette which is compatible with its rear derailleur - Shimano Alivio M4000 (https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/alivio-m4000/RD-M4000.html), so the bike is using correct setup according to the spec.

    Roam E+ Chain Popped Off

Derailleur arm location/tension looks reasonable, although the return spring on derailleur appears to be on the weaker side - when I drop the bike from 2-3 inch height, you can see the weight of chain pulling the derailleur arm down which causes momentary slack. The chainring is aligned to the...

    Roam E+ Chain Popped Off

Thanks for suggestions. My dealer service looked into it and I was told everything is fine, I did mention possibility of wrong chain length and I was told it was correct for the bike. The advice I got was - just because initially it would happen on paved road - I got a wrong bike, I should have...

    Roam E+ Chain Popped Off

So, the chain guard arrived. It's highly adjustable and fits my Roam E+. I tried to adjust it to ensure there's even space on both sides of chainring but there's minor rub somewhere that I can hear. Not a big deal as long as it does the job without causing other issues. Good news is that...

Has anyone used Garmin Edge 130 with a Giant e-bike with RideControl One remote?

Thank you! I was looking for something like this. Yes, it works with Edge 530 and able to show battery level, assist mode, remaining range. Nice find!

Has anyone used Garmin Edge 130 with a Giant e-bike with RideControl One remote?

I just got myself Garmin Edge 530. It pairs with my Roam E+ /w RideControl ONE remote and recognizes speed, cadence, power sensors. Once paired, it connects to the bike automatically whenever bike is on. However, it doesn't provide additional details from the bike that you can see through the...

Known Issues & Problems with Giant Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

That is terrible. How was things holding together without the movement/rattle when the bike was new? I can't imagine the mounting holes getting wider like that over time due to normal wear and tear. Not sure what thickness the sleeve needs to be but 3D printing that sleeve part is a possibility.

    Giant Roam E+ Reviews

By the way, one inaccuracy in the original post - Deore drivetrain. Roam E+ comes with Alivio, one level down from Deore, so is the Explore E+ 2021. If you want Deore, you need to move up to Explore E+ pro. I believe the Deore comes with clutch, and I think all their 1x setup should come with...

    Giant Roam E+ Reviews

I own Roam E+, some points I agree but disappointingly my bike came with a number of flaws which I think are assembly issues (not sure if these are factory assembled or dealer) which potentially caused all my other headaches (5 flats in 1 and half month of ownership). If I had to do it again, I...

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

Sorry for another off topic question - I got my Garmin Edge 530 today, it's very cool, still learning all the features. One question I have is - any particular reason to use RideWithGPS to build the pre-planned route over Garmin Connect? Uploading is easier with the Garmin Connect..

Known Issues & Problems with Giant Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

This is a good idea. One question though, while doing this, how do you keep the axle from turning either direction? There's the axel, two inner nuts and two outer nuts in this assembly. With one side loose, the other pair will be holding the axle. I guess this is where some trial and error is...

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

I'm definitely getting one. One question - does it have feature similar to the "ride" option in Giant's Ride Control app that just records your ride and provide metrics, without route planning?

These are all ebikes? Impressive! Even batteries are hidden somewhere?

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

off topic but very interested in this. Does Edge 530 provide route planning and navigation based on that? Something that's as good as google maps would suffice for me. It's a pricey add on but sounds like worth the price if it fills the gap.
