"Potentially Delayed" bike "Potentially Lost" by FedEx.

They are probably putting you off hoping Fedex will find the bike and send it back to them.

Cargo Bike for hills, hub vs Mid drive Eunorau G20, Blix or ?

I don't have any experience with that motor and haven't read much about it. There is a sub-forum for Eunorau though and it has a post about that bike. If it is pretty flat between the campground and the beach, you may not need a mid-drive for that...

Cargo Bike for hills, hub vs Mid drive Eunorau G20, Blix or ?

Another option for the beach scenario is to get your wife a folding bike. That way she can call an Uber to get home and put the bike in the trunk. The bike may not be there when you get back if you leave it locked up overnight.

Cargo Bike for hills, hub vs Mid drive Eunorau G20, Blix or ?

You are going to want a mid-drive for that if there are hills. Hub drives are fine on most hills. They will overheat on a long grind with a lot of weight though. If you are talking about the beach in San Diego, you may not have the range to do that without an extra battery or two (30+ miles...

Do I need a full face motorcycle helmet?

The average American drives 16 miles each way to work. That would be about an hour each way on a class 1 ebike. Totally doable and faster with a class 3 if you avoid the MUPs. With traffic, I bet that is 30-45 minutes by car. I would like to see more MUPs and bike infrastructure, but I don't...

    High-end foldable e-bike

The Tern's fold is better than the Hercules. However, both of them are bigger and heavier than the Brompton and Gocycle.

    High-end foldable e-bike

You pay a premium for the Brompton name and cult status, but it is the smallest fold. It will hold its resale value if you care about that. Both the Gocycle and the Brompton weigh under 40 lbs. I have never seen the Gocycle in person, but the pictures of the fold look small enough to take on a...

    Is the a bad ebike?

I will take your word for it. I only work on my own bikes (and some friends' and family's bikes), so I haven't experienced their whole line.

    Is the a bad ebike?

Most of what you pay for with the very top of the line components is lighter weight design and materials. Weight weenies and racers care about that and are willing to pay a lot more for it. In the mid-range, you will sacrifice features such as less gears as you step down in price, but the...

    High-end foldable e-bike

Those are nice bikes, but they wouldn't be any better than a non-folding bike for multimode commutes on trains. Something lighter with a smaller fold like the Bromtpon or Gocycle would be better for that. My Brompton folds with the chain inside the fold, so grease isn't a problem. They also...

    Is the a bad ebike?

The low end Shimano stuff works pretty well. I would be concerned with getting consumable parts like brake pads and olives and inserts for the no name Chinese hydraulic brakes on some these bikes. However, they may be compatible with Shimano parts. I haven't really looked into it. You can...

Help with best foldable ebike-Rad Mini Step-Thru or PowerMax Cougar 2

Also, many swept back bars first sweep forward before sweeping back and don't bring your hand position much further back. Swept back bars do change your wrist angle to one that might be more comfortable for you though. Bringing your hand position backwards on too large a frame can also make the...

    Ebikes….Cheating?

Fascinating. However, even in NYC, your 28mph ebike wouldn't be a class 3 as it is currently configured.

    Ebikes….Cheating?

Well, a bike with motor assist to 28mph and a throttle is neither a class 2 or class 3 ebike. How does the lack of enforcement make it a class 3 ebike? I don't understand that argument. Yes, you can easily make it compliant if it ever is enforced, but you can't really state that it is a class 3...

    Is the a bad ebike?

I would start by making a list of the features you want in a bike and make a short list of those bikes that fit your criteria. If you are not sure what features you need, then post here asking for help with that. Be sure to state how you will be using the bike: commuting, offroad, hills, etc...

    Is the a bad ebike?

You also have to find out if the reviewers criteria is the same as yours. As an example, when looking for a washing machine, you might find that a magazine rates one as the best because it conserves the most water not because it gets clothes the cleanest or is the most reliable. Maybe that is...

    Ebikes….Cheating?

There is no doubt that your bike has a throttle, but don't believe the sticker. It isn't compliant with the definition of a class 3 ebike in states that have adopted those classes. You could always remove the throttle though to be compliant.

Folding bikes are usually one size fits most and the frame was just too large for you. Non-folding bikes are available in different sizes, so one size of frame doesn't have to accommodate people from 5' to 6'2". Getting swept back handlebars may or may not work depending on the frame of the...
