    Scott launches a light one

Variety is good for the market. Everyone has their own unique preference. I ride road bikes but also ride a Lectric XP. When I ride the Lectric, I often ride it PAS1 or even unassisted. I know people who NEVER ride below level 3.😄 I'm a lot faster on my road bike. When I get another bike...

From SoCal and looking for a "value" ebike (that's full size and maybe folds)...

I have a Lectric XP that I might be selling. Let me know if you're interested. I'm in SoCal. Ticks almost all your boxes except it's 60lbs. It's more than 1/2 of what you're willing to pay though!

    Scott launches a light one

It really depends on your needs. Those seem better for people needing more assist and don't care about weight. These can be ridden without power. I'm not sure if you want to ride the 2 bikes you mentioned unassisted.

    Scott launches a light one

They start lower at $4.5k. $10K for the premium ones. Lots of bikes with this same motor run past $10k (Colnago, Wilier, Bianchi, Cannondale, etc.). Same, but very different everything else.

It looks like Mahle is performing customizations to the Ebikemotion X35 motor for companies. Do you know if it's user programmable?

Laying XP's on the side for transporting???

It's fine. Lay it on the left side and have the left crank in the up position to help stabilize. If you fold the handlebar, put something between it and the front fork so they don't rub.

    Canyon Press Release - September 1st, 2020

Really looks like Stromer bikes. I wonder if these will be Bosch CX or Performance Speed motors. I'll be a while before they will sell any ebikes to U.S. though.

    New Shimano motor

Bike radar mentioned pedal drag. "Pedal drag is most noticeable when the motor system is turned off – some people have likened pedalling an electric bike without assistance to riding through glue. These sensations should be reduced with the EP8 system. " Reduced, but not eliminated. That...

    Lectric Xp and dog?

Some dogs really enjoy running. Please don't assume all owners are negligent or uneducated. There's nothing wrong if the owner is fully aware of the limitations and precautions. There's a lot of variables to consider, but if all the boxes are checked, why not? I have a 90lb GSD. I take him...

If you were to build a long range...

I have never built an ebike before. Given your experience and feedback, I'm going to have to research the G310 kit. If the Creo is in the price of Orbea Gain, the choice would be simple! Thanks.

If you were to build a long range...

Lots of great feedback and info there! Thank you very much. It's looking more and more like I need an aftermarket kit that's similar to Specialized 1.1 set up. An "SL" without the "SL" price.

    Domane+ HP v Creo SL

We're in exciting times. I hope Canyon brings the Grail: On bike to the US. I really like that bike-even if it's limited to 20mph. Time to move the car out of the garage and make room for more bikes. I just sold 2 but still have 5.😄

    Domane+ HP v Creo SL

I think the website quoted 80 miles but that's in eco mode. Turbo will burn up the battery fast-as should be expected. The 2 bikes are quite different imho. It's like 4 cylinder turbo vs. V8. The HP is bigger in everyway... Both bikes are so nice.

If you were to build a long range...

Haha! I like that, but I want to feel like I'm working too! :D I rode a Lectric XP 20 miles and 4600 ft elevation gain last weekend. It sure was NOT fun riding a fat bike uphill like that. I'm pretty strong and the bike has power, but that assist was not natural. :(

Can you add a torque sensor to the BBSXX series motor? I would prefer mid drives over hub because I do enjoy hills :D.
