    Hydraulic brake question ?

You could ask your local bike shop. Most bikes ship with transport spacers to prevent just this from happening. When the bikes are assembled the spacers are left over. Your LBS may have some to give away for free. Can't hurt to ask.

Hypermiling - settings to modify to get extreme range

Or disconnect the battery and leave it at home. That way you increase range and make it easier...

The ultimate pedal and shoes discussion

I love riding clipped in, both road and mountain bike. For my e-bike commuter I installed the Shimano PD-T8000 touring pedals, which have one side SPD and one side with a platform and adjustable pins. That way I can click in during my commute but can also easily ride regular shoes whenever I...

    Bottom bracket- what type

There are only a handful of bottom bracket standards, so if you have the spec sheet for your bike you should be able to find out what type it is and then can search for replacements. There may be square taper ones available. Alternatively, if you have the hole diameter specs for your crankset...

Show us pictures of your cockpit!

Here's my cockpit. I prefer a clean layout. The position of my cellphone/slash bike computer holder required me to add an extension bar where I could mount the Intuvia head-unit and my horn. I have a two stage warning system, a small bell for initial hello and the horn for the cars and the...

    Noisy Bosch CX drive unit

Final update: Bosch shipped a new drive to my LBS and they just installed it. Bike is like new again. My first ride to work this morning was so quiet after weeks with the faulty drive. I can't believe how much I had gotten used to the noise. So fingers crossed for the next drive. I asked the...

25km/h? 32? 45? 60? What speed do you *actually* want on your e-bike?

I want to go without any limitations, according to how I feel on my commute. I hate the artificial cutoff of support at some arbitrary speed, so I chipped my bike from the moment I got it. This is for pedal assist-only, because I can reach the same speeds I get on my e-commuter on my road and...

What is going on with Bosch customer support?

Repost from another thread because it is relevant here too: I am getting a new drive on warranty. Yay! After a long silence I decided to email Bosch customer service myself to inquire and to my surprise they replied the next day. After a couple of emails back and forth and phone calls to my...

    Noisy Bosch CX drive unit

Update: I am getting a new drive on warranty. Yay! After a long silence I decided to email Bosch customer service myself to inquire and to my surprise they replied the next day. After a couple of emails back and forth and phone calls to my local bike store, we had all information Bosch wanted...

    Pannier bag recommendations

Can't go wrong with Ortlieb, especially if you plan to ride in wet conditions occasionally. Check out their website, the new fastening system is so adjustable that it will work with most racks on the market. I swear by my Backrollers for my commute. Haven't found anything better. And, other than...

What is going on with Bosch customer support?

No idea. They showed up as authorized when I looked on the Bosch website for the closest one.

What is going on with Bosch customer support?

Unfortunately this appears to be normal. I had a battery issue earlier this year and Bosch took almost two months to decide on the warranty before they sent me a new battery. This was run entirely through a local shop and they were unable to get even updates from the rep. Currently I have...

    Noisy Bosch CX drive unit

Thanks! I know this is happening. I wrenched on conventional bikes for many years. But I decided to take the gamble on Bosch giving me a new motor. This bike is how I get to work and I don't want to drive my car for weeks until they make up their mind

    Noisy Bosch CX drive unit

Update: Still waiting for a decision from Bosch customer service. Noise is getting louder and I now get a frequent sewing machine sound too that usually goes away when I briefly interrupt pedaling. Listen to the video from yesterday below. Will keep on riding until I have a decision or the...

    Bent axle replacement?

How silly and short-sighted. I can understand not wanting to deal with the electric parts if you have no experience or parts, but most of the e-bike is conventional and no different from other bikes. In our store we'd work on everybody's bikes but gave priority in terms of wait times and prices...

    Bent axle replacement?

Impossible to do a remote diagnosis. This could be a number of things after a nasty fall. I'd bring it to a bike shop and have them take a look while it's on a repair stand and you can move and wiggle all parts to diagnose. They might even do the diagnosis part for free, if they're not too busy...

    Bent axle replacement?

Do you mean just the quick release skewer or the actual axle of the hub? Skewers are easy to replace, just find the right diameter and length (probably 9mm and 100mm for a standard QR front). You can get replacement axles for the higher end hubs but there are so many different models of lower...

    Bosch motor average life span.

I just crossed 11k miles on my Bosch CX drive after I started riding this bike in March of 2018. I do have an ongoing warranty claim that I filed about 1000 miles ago because it suddenly got loud and makes whirring/grinding noises. Still riding it though and will do so until Bosch replaces it or...

    Dual Hub Ebike Batteries

I saw the picture of this department store bike with low-end rim brakes etc. and immediately had the same thought. Even at the current speed indicated, I personally would not ride this bike.

How active were you in October?

Pretty good month. I think I got to commute almost every workday. 40 rides total for 715 miles. Approaching 11k total on this bike. Ignore the top speed. I need to edit one ride where the GPS signal was bad for a couple of minutes. The track jumped a couple of times and produced this unreal speed.
