    Top Off Battery During Ride

I'm not an expert, but I've heard that the quickest charging occurs at the lower ranges (e.g., 20-40% goes much quicker than 80-100%), which makes me think you'd be better off waiting until you're getting closer to the "E" mark. That said, the best approach of course is to bring a good book and...

Now the backlight went out on my display...

Hey @Senseiwai --> From @Douglas Ruby in the other backlight thread from last week: The Manual is incorrect regarding how you get into backlight and km/mile setup mode. You have to power the bike down. Then you push the joystick vertically in the center position (not up/down/left/right) and...

Now the backlight went out on my display...

Helpful, thanks. I'm going back to my dealer/LBS soon (bike is only 1 month old, so definitely under warranty). Everything looks and works fine EXCEPT the backlight doesn't work.

2016 Turbo X: First week (and beyond) commuting impressions

Had an interesting commute today with a strong headwind. Instead of ending with my usual ~30% battery life, I finished my 20 miles with only 8% left!

Turbo Owners -- What's your total mileage? [OFFICIAL MILEAGE THREAD]

I'm at 250 miles after one month of ownership (tracking using Strava because my odo reset).

Safe to climb big hills on a Turbo?

Thanks to the interesting comments from Douglas, I realized that you can check the motor temp using the display panel. Does anyone know if there is a "safe" range or if this is something I should be monitoring while I ride? Seems like more of a diagnostic tool given that it's in the "setup"...

    Face mask/covering for bugs?

With my increased speed on my sweet new ebike (Specialized Turbo X), I am getting so many bugs in my face (including eyes and mouth) when I commute through a local wetlands park in the early morning and at dusk. Has anyone come up with a good face covering to help with this but not interfere...

Do you get strange looks when you past a moving vehicle? :)

I personally get nervous passing cars on the right (e.g.,. in a bike lane) because I don't think drivers are expecting it or looking in that direction and so the risk of a right hook or unintentional drift into the bike lane/shoulder seems more likely. How about you guys?

2016 Turbo X: First week (and beyond) commuting impressions

OK, I have to say WOW! I just hit 250 miles on my Turbo X (2016) and I realized that I've done all my rides in Eco mode (between 50-70) for a better workout. I did my first commute (18 miles, only did one way today) in "Turbo" mode and it DEFINITELY makes a difference. The bike pulls harder...

    How to turn on backlight?

Thanks, Douglas, how did you ever figure that out?!? Talk about not intuitive... The good news is that it got me to the miles/km and the backlight y/n screens. The bad news is that it didn't turn on the light. Dealer pinged and hopefully they'll just get me a new display.

    How to turn on backlight?

FROM MANUAL: To access the setup function of the computer: Press and hold the joystick to the left while squeezing the right-side brake lever. Press the battery power button to turn on the system, then continue to hold the joystick to the left and the brake lever closed for 3 seconds. FWIW...

    How to turn on backlight?

My backlight (for the display) quit working and I'm wondering if this is a hardware/light problem or if it's in the settings. I tried to follow the instructions in the manual for changing the backlight, but I couldn't figure it out. Any ideas? Thanks!

Wow...Don't put away your regular bike.

Thanks, J.R., this is great and I definitely did appreciate it! Seems like a cool guy and I have to say that it makes me glad I live/work where I do- my commute is a lot nicer and more scenic than his!

Wow...Don't put away your regular bike.

I think you'd actually need a power meter to get a good calorie estimate (like the guy in the article linked above). A heart-rate monitor might help as well.

Safe to climb big hills on a Turbo?

This might be a dumb question, but I wanted to make sure I wouldn't hurt anything if I tried to climb some big hills as fast as possible on my Turbo. Am I right in thinking the motor has sufficient protections built in to avoid overheating, etc.? This won't be my regular commute, but I thought...

    Mission Control App!

Bummer- thanks to the documentation that was posted in a separate thread, I learned that only the Levo (not the Go Swiss hub-motor Turbos) can give rider power figures. Makes the idea of getting an iPhone mount for my bars less interesting.
