    turn-key e-bikes with Bafang motor

We just got in a Bafang mid drive fat bike called a Juggernaut by Bixtrix sweet machine. We sponsored them on a kickstarter looking to get more in any day now. Here is the link to a youtube showing it in action.

Fire destroys E Bikes SF Store

Sure hope not too Shea sure don't need a Hindenburg to slow anything down. We been fortunate here had a deer jump through the window last year, broke the showroom window and knocked over a few bikes...casualties 1 deer wandered off fatally wounded. Get kind of worried about all the news out of...

Haibike Trekking RX or Stromer ST1 Platinum

I'm a tech guy at heart but have to agree with Shea and George, seat of the pants is the best tool to find the right bike for you. I like to compare it to sex in a way, I can know all the fact, hear all the reviews but until you experience it you have no idea what riding an ebike is about. A lot...

    ProdecoTech Pedal Assist, Torque Sensor

Got the Beam Torque Sensor installed on Justin's Phantom Friday. FYI of course the install is not just 123 like the video shows but no surprises either, no further instructions come with the part. A couple of things to be aware for the DIY though are in order. Foremost as with any repair or...

    EG Athens

Justin, glad you enjoyed your experience and got a chance to meet Wayne in person, my first time too, and I know your wife will enjoy the Athens when the weather is more cooperative. I am looking forward to installing the pedal assist on your Phantom when the parts arrive, it's always nice to...

    Magic Pie, Golden Motor Kit

Before you go with the 60v make sure the MP controller FETs will handle it. I have not worked with the new sine wave controller yet but know the MP3 warned that 60v was the limit on the FETs and exceeding that limit possibly burned them out and voided the warrantee. Just FYI and good luck.

    Magic Pie, Golden Motor Kit

From some of my previous posts people may get the idea I'm against conversions, quite the contrary if a person does their homework first. I have a Golden Motor Magic pie 3 conversion I did on a Schwinn 411, running 700c wheels and mechanical disk brakes. Not the highest quality components but...

    Hello, From A2B!

Have used this trick on older style batteries that reached an extreme discharge and results were mixed but did revive some at least for awhile. The thing to remember is monitor the charge closely as noted above and do not exceed the nominal rated voltage before using the regular recommended...

    Battery percentage stuck at 10%

The wiring on ST1 while neatly tucked away can be difficult to work on due to that same fact and tight clearances. Had a guy once who had a regular shop repair his back flat and bike would not operate afterward turns out the main leads (large plug three leads) from battery to motor has an...

    How do you represent?

I had a day off and attended a favorite event of mine http://www.slimeycrudrun.com/#top . Being both early and late in the riding season it is usually plagued with poor weather and this years fall run was no exception with sun, but temps in the forties, but I could not pass by the opportunity to...

    First ebike for recreation

Shea and Mark are on the mark (sorry for the pun) Test rides are important in finding the right bike. It's a great idea to test ride a bike and see how it performs if you've got the opportunity to do so.

Any details yet about the Dash city kit?

Like minds Shea check this out on what I did on my Neo Jet. Nice fender set to work with, use some care and was able to get a no rattle set up and good consistent spacing. Used Planet Bike Cascadia on my Stromer, no pixs yet (unsure model bought used) , with suspension front and throttle, after...

    Article about ebikes converting commuters

Very interesting Tom, good reminder to us all there is still a large percentage of people out there who are unaware of ebikes and all the issues surrounding them. While I saw a lot of enthusiasm I was surprised at the naysayers. Those of us who have been involved with ebikes on a regular basis...

    New Commuter needs help

Specs and research aside the best way to find the "right" bike is to try them out. You did not mention what area of the country you are in but the number of dealers is growing daily. For larger riders the Stromer is certainly a good choice, but Easy Motion and Currie (IZIP and Haibike) also...
