Moving from Vado SL EQ to Creo 2

Are there other good quickrack systems that use a special replacement axle as the bottom support?

Bike Rack for Trek Verve+4S Lowstep

If you still like your Vado, a dropper seatpost might solve your problem, too.

    I bought a Grizl:ON CF 9, AMA

Bosch has a fairly sophisticated range calculator that is probably more useful than my anecdotal evidence. Above I said 35-40 miles where I was riding a mix of ECO and TOUR and the tool says 34 for TOUR and 55 for ECO so it agrees as far as that. Also, playing with the cadence slider, it doesn't...

Specialized app almost never connects to bike (Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH)

Do you have both the old and new apps installed? They will fight over the bike. You need to unpair (or uninstall) one for the other to connect reliably.

Moving from Vado SL EQ to Creo 2

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking, but the SRAM eTap system has what SRAM calls "blips", one kind wires to the same-side brifter, and there is also a wireless kind. The function is assignable in the app, but I don't know if you can cross the streams and control the Specialized TCD with them...

    I bought a Grizl:ON CF 9, AMA

Once you're aware of it you'll notice almost everyone who talks about Canyon bike sizing (across their entire lineup) mentions going down a size from what they expected. And the fact that their sizing goes down to "extra small" is also a clue. I agree. And I wouldn't mind a non-black frame...

Would you choose a suspension seatpost, a dropper seatpost, or a combination of both for your bike?

I also tend to bob a bit right around when I hit 90RPM. Things that cure it for me: Upshifting (bobbing caused by having "left over power" at the bottom of the stroke), and focusing on making my pedaling motion more circular (like adding more of a pull back at the bottom of the stroke). It...

    I bought a Grizl:ON CF 9, AMA

You may remember me from such bikes as the Turbo Tero X 6.0 or the Aventure.2. I was very interested in the Creo 2 but didn't jump on that fast enough. I ended up getting the Grizl:ON CF 9 because it's a very similar bike. I was looking for something faster on roads/light gravel, lighter, with...

NBD Here is my Specialized Turbo Tero X 6.0

The taillight is attached to the rear fender and the cable runs in a groove in the fender until it jumps over to the bottom bracket. There's no disconnect except the one inside the motor. You'd have to add one if you want to regularly remove and replace it.

When cycling, do you like listening to music?

If you don't mind looking a little silly, these "cat ears" https://amzn.to/4cEvXGK are very effective. Put the thicker part between the strap and your head. As long as the strap keeps it in contact with the side of your head, it removes almost all wind noise. When I got them, I kind of hoped...

    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

I actually am. The grip tape is pretty effective. At some point I may switch to a combo SPD + flat pedal. My issue is that SPD shoes that fit my feet are hard to come by and very expensive. I use a "feed bag" to carry one bottle and put a second in the only usable water bottle slot. For the...

    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

I'm 6'4" and I have a Tero X 6 XL. That agrees with their sizing guide and my life experience that I need the largest size of everything. On me that produces a medium posture (say around 45 degree slope to the back), not upright and not aggressive. IMO the biggest negative to comfort is the...

    What's an "SUV" ebike?

My impression (and I say this as a Tero X 6 owner) is that it's when you take a mountain bike (usually a full suspension mtb), make it electric, and add some features to make it more suitable for road use (e.g. fenders). The result is a sort of do-everything monstrosity akin to an SUV. I'd call...

    I did the unthinkable.....

I like the padded underwear + cargo shorts for the same reasons, but bib shorts are more comfortable and stay comfortable longer. Even comparing the exact same brand/chamois. I think the bibs just do a better job of keeping everything in exactly the right place, which makes a huge difference...

    I did the unthinkable.....

There's also a brand (?) on Amazon called Przewalski (probably a house brand) that sells similarly priced bibs that are similar quality. They also carry a wider range of sizes and have a better return policy than the Black Bibs folks.

I Ditched The GX Stock Johnny Watts Tires...

Just want to note that a softer/bigger saddle is not always more comfortable while on the bike (or after): Ideally you want your weight to be transmitted from your bones to the bike. Since your bones are inside your body, there has to be some soft tissue involved in the weight transfer. A big...

I Ditched The GX Stock Johnny Watts Tires...

Thanks for the writeup. My bike came with even more knobbly (basically downhill MTB) tires and I switched to JW and basically said all the same things you said above. I'll have to try an even road-ier tire next and see what it's like.

Help choosing a bike for fun and exercise?

    > top speeds of 25+ ... something fun with a throttle but also want to be able to pedal A throttle means a class 2 bike and the throttle will be limited to 20MPH. To get to 28MPH you are class 3 and you'll have to pedal above 20MPH. So going 20MPH with a throttle can be zero effort, but going...

    Good uses for walk mode

I saw a suggestion once to use walk mode (on a middrive bike) to shift gears if you're in a tough spot and entirely the wrong gear. You can just rock the bike up on the kickstand so the rear wheel is free and let walk mode pedal through the gears.

Comparing geometry to predict fit vs known comfortable fit bike?

There are tools like https://bikeinsights.com/ which will show you the geometries of two bikes superimposed. My understanding is that you can go by geometry if you're talking about a very similar style of bike (comparing two road bikes, for example). It probably doesn't mean much if you compare...
