    Specialized releases Turbo Tero X

Maybe not so clear. It puts a lot more force through the chain/belt, and on a full suspension bike that can interact badly with suspension.

    Specialized releases Turbo Tero X

That's the main issue I've had with mine. Part of it I mentioned in my bike thread: The "ergonomic MTB grips" are not very ergonomic if you have big hands (or just set up your cockpit wrong). It's easy to hold those grips in a way that directly pushes on the middle of your palm. The other part...

Uses more battery in the afternoon than in the morning?

I would guess that the battery management on the bike is just doing a poor job of reporting capacity. You probably use about the same watt hours each way.

Strava heatmap loophole may reveal users' home addresses

Did anyone think it was that secure? If they hide the first 100 meters (or whatever) of your ride and you ride from home a lot there's going to be an obvious point which can be reached 100 meters from the start of every ride.

Thoughts on Turbo Vado 4.0, Gazelle C380+, and Aventon.

Does that stand for "hold my beer"? Do not buy an Aventure.2 for turn signals, app integration, or range.

Wow-Prices are down on E-Bikes on Specialized site!

I guess I'm relieved? that the Tero X is not included. And they still haven't got stock on the white version, so I'm glad I wasn't waiting for that.

If you were me, which Turbo Vado SL would you buy? Redux....

You should be able to turn them off with a long press of the "F1" (top) button. But they will default to "on" each time you power on the bike. I'm not a future shock expert but I did watch a video about them out of curiosity. That guy mentioned that he rode for quite a while before realizing...

    Size choice

This seems backwards to me. You can have as much steer tube as you want sticking out of the head tube regardless of how tall it is. But on the larger frame the top tube will be longer, which will tend to lean you over more. (Of course the bike will come with the steer tube cut down already so...

I thought Class 3 would feel safer on the road

There's a guy on youtube who endorses fly fishing button-up shirts for cycling. The back is cut to give you room to swing your arms around. They're full coverage for sun protection, they dry quickly and they have good pockets. And as you mentioned, people are slightly less likely to try to run...

NBD Here is my Specialized Turbo Tero X 6.0

He's using the stock fender/rack. He just added a flat platform on top (which the stock one lacks). It would be tricky to install any hardtail rack on it. There are aftermarket FS mountain bike racks, though.

Looking for a Grocery Getter and Exercise eBike

pff I'm way over (one of my) bike's limit and it's fine. If you really care about limits, almost all bikes list a total weight (bike + rider) at 300lbs, which leaves approximately zero bikes for someone who is 275lbs. In practice you'll have to accept that you will put above average wear on it.

Looking for a Grocery Getter and Exercise eBike

Did you just hop on an exercise bike to check, or do you ride regularly? I would expect your cadence to increase fairly rapidly if you rode regularly. The reason it's important is that mid-drive motors are less efficient at low cadence, so you will have to de-rate the stated specs if you don't...

Thoughts on Turbo Vado 4.0, Gazelle C380+, and Aventon.

Of of my complaints about the Aventure.2 is that "ECO" isn't low enough. In my experience the range (while continuing to have assist) is a bit over 30 miles, and the assist drops off a lot when the battery gets low. Going up a 12% grade with throttle only is very doable on a fresh battery, but...

Looking for an alternative to Aventon Soltera

My personal conspiracy theory is that Aventon had their big sale on batteries right after NYC announced the UL listing requirement because they never certified their batteries individually (only as part of the bike). They didn't want to be holding the bag, so they had a huge sale on batteries...

I thought Class 3 would feel safer on the road

I'm in a suburb of Seattle, WA, and I think people are generally pretty understanding. I think they are just not used to bikes going that fast, which is causing them to do things that they wouldn't do if they really thought about it. I've actually found that other roads (even busier roads)...

I thought Class 3 would feel safer on the road

I thought going faster on the road would reduce the speed differential to cars and make me feel safer riding in the bike lane (aka bike gutter). What I've found is that drivers are so focused on I must pass all cyclists that what really happens is that there is still a 20+MPH speed...

Can i increase max speed to more then 28 on original aventure

The updated the app a while back to set the limit at 28.

    Turbo Creo motor noise

There's a guy on YouTube who does vidoes about Brose motor repair, so you can see a teardown to see what's inside. It's probably always louder when making more power but at high speeds you can't hear it over other noise.

    I bought a Turbo Tero X 6.0, AMA

There are at least two more tuning options on some bikes, "acceleration" and "shuttle". I don't see them on my Tero X. I don't know if the dealer can enable them. I've found the bike to be plenty responsive at stoplights. What gear are you starting in? I rarely go below 3 or 4 when out on the...

NBD Here is my Specialized Turbo Tero X 6.0

From the factory the fork ships with 3 air volume reducers installed. Rockshox calls these "bottomless tokens" because the purpose is to make the shock even more progressive (stiffer as it is compressed more) to avoid bottoming out the fork when you hit something really hard. My bike also came...
