Fastest I've ever been on an electric bike

Very smart! Don't forget your gloves. If you go down, your hands are likely to be the first body part to hit the road. That said. It was fun to watch your video.

    Peak Considerations

Rusty, I just love reading your reviews of the Peak! You were very smart in your research and test riding of bikes in the beginning. And although I really like my Dash (except for the motor magnets), it sounds more and more like the Peak would have been a better choice for me. First of all, I...

    My Izip Dash got "Horns"

I read so many great reviews about the Ergon ergonomic bicycle grips that I had to try them out. They are unbelievably comfortable! It's so nice to have various grip positions. I find the end bars to help give more power to the legs in climbing hills. The ones I got are the Ergon GP5-S with long...

    Peak Considerations

From what I've read and also what I'm somewhat guessing is that the gears allow the motor to run at it's best torque range. I think that the hub motor at low rpms does not have as much torque as it does when it is rotating faster. That's my uneducated understanding. Hopefully, someone smarter...

My 500 mile E3 Dash Review

I remembered that @Brian(J) has ordered some Avid BB7 brakes for his Dash. After reading some reviews, this appears to be the best mechanical disc brakes out there. With this option you could keep the original Dash brake levers and still get better brake performance. Perhaps Brian will chime in...

    Peak Considerations

Rusty, Every time I read your reviews about the Peak, I start wishing I would have bought the Peak instead of the Dash. Mid-drive seems to be the future. With the Dash there are some extreme hills where I live that I just can't make it to the top without stopping and resting. I'm thinking the...

BoeShield Chain Lube - Working !

I've used DuPont Chain-Saver on my motorcycles for years and the chains last a long time, so I decided to use it also on my Izip Dash. It's a waxed based chain lube with Teflon. It really does keep the chain clean longer. And it's easy to buy because Walmart sells it in their auto section.

    E-bike mirror - a good one!

I tried the helmet mirror years ago and now it sits in my bicycle junk box. It didn't work for me. I use the Mirrycle now and I love it. It gives a good view and is easily adjustable. I also love how it folds out of the way so going through doorways is easy. It's the best mirror I've used.

My 500 mile E3 Dash Review

Good information. I'll have to learn more about hydraulic brakes for bicycles and how easy (or hard) it is to do the upgrade. I hope someone on this forum does the hydraulic brakes upgrade to their Dash and shows us how to do it. You're right, I'm a lightweight bicyclist compared to some of you...

    Thudbuster or Body Float

Hey @DashRiprock, That happened before when Brian(J) was looking to order. When I emailed them they told me they were out of stock and would be in stock on a specified date. Sure enough, they were back in stock on that date. You could email them to find out when they will be back in stock.

My 500 mile E3 Dash Review

It's interesting that you are having trouble with your Dash brakes, because my brakes just amaze me at how good they are. My 20 mile run is all about going up long steep hills and going down long steep hills. There is one point where I am traveling over 35 mph and come to a 15 mph almost 180...

    E3 Dash malfunction help?

I've noticed the fluctuation of pedal assist also. If it's just for a few seconds at a time, it just might be the software algorithm adjusting itself to the latest inputs. Sometimes I also see the motor slightly speed up for a few seconds after stopping pedaling. This also is probably the time...

    Optimal Tire Pressure

Interesting, but too complicated. I tried reading both of your links, but gave up. I usually set the pressure somewhere near the middle of the min and max tire pressure values stamped on the tire. Perhaps it's not optimum, but unless you are racing bicycles does it really matter that much as...

    E3 Dash malfunction help?

I agree wholeheartedly! When one pays this kind of money for a bicycle, the bicycle should be built to be trouble free and dependable. The Dash is a beautiful bike and when it works, it's a wonderful ride. But, there have been too many problems for too many people. Advice? I agree with you on...

"That's the brightest tail light I've ever seen"

I have no idea of what the batteries weigh, my digital bathroom scale says 0.5LB, but that's the lowest reading it can give. The light draws 210mA at steady on and the batteries are 2000mAh , so the batteries will last about 10 hr. Since I use the flash mode, it should last a lot longer. With my...

Haibikes for US market - More Companies to Sign Contract

So, would one of these Haibikes be better at climbing steep hills than the hub driven Izip Dash? There are a few hills where I live that the Dash pedal asssist with all my leg power still can not make it to the top.

Backtracker Radar Light Detects Cars and Flashes to Protect Cyclists

Looks like a good idea however, after watching the video I would say that the rear LEDs look pretty weak and most drivers probably wouldn't even see them in the daylight. I ride with a mirror that I glance at all the time, so I'm always aware what is behind me. I also ride with a super bright...

My 500 mile E3 Dash Review

Excellent review. I'm sure it will be helpful for prospective buyers. I absolutely love the pedal assist. I use PAS1 mostly and for hills I use PAS2. I have found no use for the Throttle Mode in my riding. Perhaps it might be good for bike paths. I wish the reliability was better.

My 500 mile E3 Dash Review

If you are talking about the pedals being further apart from each other, I've used pedal extenders for years. They used to be called Knee Savers. It was one of the first things I put on my Dash.
