Cell battery technology set to jump again-driven by another industry

Anytime I can use an electric (battery powered) tool I do, over corded electric or gasoline powered. Although not economically feasible yet, I can see a day in the not so distance future that a large battery bank recharged by grid power and renewable's is coming. It's just progress, I imagine...

Makes me wonder, how many other amateur radio (ham) operators on this forum? I'm one, in 6 land.

Do I need a full face motorcycle helmet?

I use helmet "beanies" made for use under a helmets on both, my motorcycle and E bike helmets. Kind of like a sock for your head. That should be enough to replace the hair lost from a hair cut. You do seem hard to please though, so......

Looking For A High-Visibility Bicycle Helmet Recommendation

I bought this one, Specialized Align II with a MIPS rating, if that's important to you, around $50.00 USD. Has a micro adjuster inside and fits well. Lightweight and comfortable.

How fast is too fast for you?

This, bicycles are far too twitchy I've found for my comfort level. 20 MPH or so gives me a good feeling of control. I hit 40 on the speedo once and that seemed to limit out the display, it reverted back to zero until I reset it. Going downhill of course.

    World War III

I must be the only person in California that thinks In and Out burgers suck. To me they are just greasy, salty. gut bombs. But to be fair, the last time I ate at a fast food joint was probably at least 30 years ago, if not longer. I went with a plant based diet about then, long before it was...

Going to document my weight loss

Healthy diets all have on thing in common, they are a good balance of complex carbs (vegetables, whole grains and legumes), lean proteins, and good fats, and shy away from processed foods, sugar, simple carbs and trans fats. Diet sodas are thought to be unhealthy as well, even though they...

Going to document my weight loss

I don't think diets work long term, they deprive you of something, although the "keto" diet is an effective short term way to lose weight quickly, a very low carb diet long term is not sustainable or healthy. Something like the "Mediterranean" diet is a good lifestyle eating plan that is very...

how do you feel about the current regulatory system for e-Bikes in the US?

I don't have a problem sharing the trails with bicycles, e bicycles, or pedestrians. Not horses though, they're too big and if they get spooked can really hurt somebody, and the fact they dump that recycled hay out all over the trail. Nasty stuff to walk or bike through.

what to do if the bike you ordered online is defective.

I bought a Chinese bike off the Internet last year. I bought it through Amazon, and thought if there was a problem I might get a bit of help from them (Amazon) if needed. So far no problems, except a broken front caliper, my fault. When I emailed the vendor about buying a replacement, they...

how do you feel about the current regulatory system for e-Bikes in the US?

Why don't I care whether people turn a throttle or pedal, or a combination of both? What's wrong with me?

how do you feel about the current regulatory system for e-Bikes in the US?

Motorcycle guy here, love my throttle. My e bike is more of a tool for me and thus, when I want a lot more of an adrenaline rush I hop on one of the M/C's. Back on topic though, I think one reason Ca. isn't too restrictive with e bikes is that we are electric friendly here and we have a lot of...

how do you feel about the current regulatory system for e-Bikes in the US?

The only regs I checked before I bought an ebike was the California DMV's, specifically to do with registration and insurance requirements. Other than that here in California, no one official or otherwise seem to give any notice to e bikes. Strange as it seems in such a highly regulated state...

    What is wrong with Spandex...

Yes on hi-viz yellow for visibility. My street bike helmet, and my bicycle helmet. I'm pretty certain they make a difference at being noticed. I see cagers sometimes look my way halfheartedly, and then swing back around and actually see me.
