I think the Aventon Pace 500 or 350 is a great bike for the money. Your budget doesn't allow for the best stuff so this is a good bike for the money.

Wow decent batteries start around $400. So seeing a $200. one makes me think it's very cheap cells that wont power you very good up a hill or have very good cycle life. .

It sure sounds like it could be the battery. When the cells go bad, the voltage drops when you add the load. The pack will appear to charge up but only to drop voltage when pushed under a load.

Raleigh doesn't cover the labor for warranty work. Just the parts. Pretty standard affair.

I agree with Thomas. A 4 year old battery is close to it's useful stage. The cells will always show voltage but that doesn't mean there still good. As soon as a load is applied the voltage will drop which is what happens to tired cells.

At least with Amazon you have a direct route for returns or refunds if the bike is damaged when you get it. They also play middle man when dealing with the vendor.

1C is the safe rate for lithium Ion. Higher than 1C is where it gets fuzzy. I would not worry about going up to 1C as far as charging goes. We use up to 5c with hobby lipos all the time with no problems.

The fact that you can't find any info tells me all I need to know. Doesn't mean it's a bad bike and Bionx was known for having a good product but until they come out with a press release, I'm not buying.
