    Thoughts on Vvolt ebikes?

I would agree for the hub drive options they have. With the mid-drives however, 400wh was not uncommon 5-6 years back (standard bosch battery size for example). While 6-700wh is great to see now, 375wh should still give most riders 35-50 miles of range unless running in turbo the whole time.

That speed and throttle you're not going to find any of the major brands. Not sure if either of the Luna bikes (X2, z-1) have throttle, or maybe an optional add-on? Frey bikes would be a good option too. I don't think you're going to find anything with a sealed hub or single speed - would...

Safest way to transport a bike on pickup bed with wheels removed?

I'm curious why the need to put the bike fully in the truck bed? Removing and attaching both wheels it significantly more work than just the front wheel - particularly with ebikes given the weight (and if you have a rear hub, triple that effort!). Why not go the tailgate pad route and forego...

    Dropper post

Technically it is much less difficult to do a swap. The cable housing is already installed on the bike - the cable itself can just be pulled out/through, and replaced with a new cable. With that said, if the lever from the current post is setup and working just fine, then probably no need to...

    Turbo Vado 710Wh Battery ?

May I ask why you're wanting a 2nd battery? A 700wh battery with a quality brand motor (is spec still using brose in these?) Will give you 50 to 70 miles of riding at minimum. I'm a big dude, have a BH bikes mtb with 700wh brose and would be hard pressed too get less than 50 miles on a full charge.

    Warranty transferable?

Bosch doesn't warrant anything on a bike, the company with their name on the side of the bike does that!

Fatte Bikes (aka FattEbikes for search purposes) Review and warning

Exactly. I also hand assemble my bike out of the shipping box. Nothing of what I see on that site says they are anything more than a shipping container full of extremely marked up $500 Alibaba bikes.

    Dropper post

Pnw are a great budget option, the rainier gen 3 can be up to 170 and you can even adjust down by 30mm I believe. Their stuff is 20 percent off through August I believe, hard to beat. You do need to buy a lever unless you reuse you current one. Their $40 lever includes cable and housing which...

I suspect what @Solarcabin meant was that you're not going to get into a trade job making $100K tomorrow. If you have the requisite education perhaps you could be there quickly. Without the education your reference of 'getting paid to learn' implies either long term apprenticeship or...

This country is paying car drivers nearly $4,000 to switch to an electric bike

This is a great take! I grew up in Canada but am a US citizen by marriage for over 20 years. I truly cannot understand how something as basically human as health care can be run for profit. Illness that we have the means to manage should be a fundamentally human right, paid for collectively...

    Class sticker?

I don't think technically speaking that if a bike has the capability to 'switch' between a class mode, it would stand that it is whatever class you had it set to at the time of a particular ride/incident. It is about capability, not action. If a bike has a throttle, it is class 2 - if you...

Do you pedal or just ride full throttle? Now Closed

Agree with @tomjasz and @Tars Tarkas on this one. @Solarcabin You are simply not riding a legal electric bike - not legal anywhere. Not that I care in particular, but you're basically riding a moped with useless crank-based pedals. For the record you're also not cheating, because you're not...

    Where do these parts go?

The winged connectors definitely appear to be matched to either the light wiring kit or perhaps the factory programming wire there? Color matches the programming wire - which I suspect is normally just tucked away in the frame and not connected to anything - though perhaps it should have a...

    Yamaha Cross Connect stem change?

Agreed - any stem will do. Bringing the bars closer will have the effect of making steering tighter as well. Keep in mind that even the smallest adjustments can have a fairly large impact. If you buy from Amazon that also makes for easy returns, so I wouldn't worry too much - just get...

    Where do these parts go?

Looking at the EBR review and pics, it appears a lot of the wiring runs under the bottom bracket (you can see it in your 2nd picture as well). My first question is a basic one - does the bike work as-is with that disconnected? If yes could it possibly be related to the front/rear lights that...

DO NOT Buy the KBO Breeze without watching this video

100%! These sorts of youtube videos are just trying to reach the top of the queue to drive clicks and revenue. Even this thread title is mimicking that format - it also implies @RandyRides randomly discovered some random video that users just NEED to see to make their decision. In reality it...

BRAIN article on using e-bikes for rehabilitation

I feel like this is an oversimplification. The concept of torque sensing as described suggests that torque sensing bikes have no assist 'levels' - that you simply get on and ride, and the bike will compute a predetermined output based on the rider's input. Any half decent bike we've owned with...
