Who got a new bike for Christmas?

I didn't, but I did get to ride 25 miles on Christmas day with my son. Came in pretty handy avoiding the mother in law. On the ride we saw one new Christmas bicycle, and a skate board, but that's about it. Even though the weather was sunny and warm, there weren't many kids out playing with there...

    Neo Carbon code 5

After further questioning I found I didn't know all the facts. My son told me that included with the bike was an information packet that included information about registering the warranty online, which he did. He did call the shop where he bought the bike from, and they recommended cleaning...

So where will e-bike tech go?

My vision for the future is very similar to this. So far I see most people still thinking as in the past. Bicycles, are bicycles, motorcycles are motorcycles, and government agencies are just as bad. I think eventually bicycles, and motorcycles will pretty much merge into one. Everything is...

    Neo Carbon code 5

UB, thanks for the reply. My son has at least temporarily solved his issue by securing under the handle bar so it doesn't move. He did buy online from a shop 1800 miles away. They didn't offer any information about needing to do anything for the warranty to be in effect. The only instructions...

Recommendations On an E-bike or a kit?

You're a wise man. I think the last 3 bikes I bought was when I accidently found myself looking at a bike that I couldn't buy.

    Felt NINEe v Haibike 29er

Me thinks you just want a new bike to ride LOL. But since you're asking, I'd say there's not enough diff to make it worth the trouble. But I like your reasoning about everything else. We might disagree on some of the minor details is all.

    Flat tire

I totally agree that there's a very high likelihood of a novice damaging their bike trying to change their tire, but if you want to own a bike, you've got to learn how to do it. People that don't learn to work on their own bikes don't last very long as riders, unless they're married to some...

    Bultoco Brinco Electric Bicycle

Maybe some kind of crash bars, considering the big bash plate underneath the bike. Or maybe a rack.

    Bultoco Brinco Electric Bicycle

The more detailed link indicates nominal power of 2kw, which is more like 2.68 hp, and 37 mph top speed which is probably perfect conditions. Still this is more like it. For $1800 more than Stromer, and $1200 less than a Fighter, I'd have to take a serious look at it.

    Bultoco Brinco Electric Bicycle

It's good to see these more powerful electric bicycles coming out. All electric bicycles will evolve in this direction. This bike is about the same as a stealth Fighter, but even less expensive.

    Bultoco Brinco Electric Bicycle

Bultaco calls the Brinco a Moto-Bike, but it's what most people would consider a classic moped with pedals being assisted by some source of extra power. In this case, the grunt comes from an electric motor mounted to the rear wheel hub that produces a peak 4 horsepower (3 kilowatts) and 44...

I want the same thing as you. What I don't understand is why you think a throttle interferes with that. I have a throttle, and I don't notice any problem pedaling my potooty off. Maybe what you're trying to say is you lack the willpower to stay off the throttle?
