    Kalkhoff vs Pedego

The German pedelec forum is even more vocal about them, and reports are that the French and Dutch are just as vocal. It is very doubtful that you will find anyone in Europe that would now buy a Kalkhoff fitted with an Impulse motor. Even more so now that Derby Cycles, have all but admitted...

I love the end to your reply above. Brilliant. :) Tyre choice is certainly a very tricky one to answer. I would guess that 90% of my riding is off road and I tend to ride in any and all conditions. I have gone through a couple of different brands, and one thing that you really do have to be...

Thank you so much for the kind words Paul, and I hope that you can spend many happy hours out enjoying your bike. Where are you based? I have just spent a lovely couple of weeks having great fun on mine. :) https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/swiss-trip-2016.6389/page-2#post-60237

    Swiss trip 2016

Thanks for that, Doarama is a bit of a learning curve. For those that are interested, click on the upper left hand arrow for elevation. The default seems to be speed. Out of interest, is there an edit function, as that one is shown as walk. Ref the climbing grades, the start of the really...

Why Electric Bikes Shouldn't Be Allowed on Mountain Biking Trails?

Sorry about this being off topic. Strava did throw up a very interesting note for me on the recent Swiss trip, and that was proving that control of speed is far more effective and efficient that the reckless skidding into and around corners by many an mtb rider. I'm very conscious about riding...

    Swiss trip 2016

Thanks for showing me this. It adds a whole new dimension to rides. :) I just tried to upload a second ride, but it only recorded about 50% of it. I'll try again a little later. edit. The first route now only seems to be showing a small element of the ride length. :(

Why Electric Bikes Shouldn't Be Allowed on Mountain Biking Trails?

I have never seen any additinal trail damage caused by eMTB's but your comment about cheating has fuel, especially as many ebike riders use Strava, and don't list their rides as ebike rides. I could name several forum users that do just that, and I have also read very negative comments by pedal...

Why Electric Bikes Shouldn't Be Allowed on Mountain Biking Trails?

Judging by the lack of forum user input and interest to the eMTB sub section, I think that they already have been banned. :D;) In the UK pretty much the sole reason that eMTB' s could face a ban from being used on land that has public access and rights of way, is dongles. Dongles are illegal...

Kalkhoff Impulse EVO RS 250 watt motor

Not sure if it is the same motor, but search for Kalkhoff clacking noise. If it is the same motor, you would do well to steer clear of it. http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/clacking-noise-kalkhoff-impulse-2-motor.22024/page-24 And...

    Swiss trip 2016

Thankfully not, but I didn't want to move for about five minutes. I first thought that I might have broken both legs, and never even felt any pain from my collar bone and shoulder. That pain hit me in the evening, and I can't lift my arm anywhere near to shoulder height. It was one of those...

    Swiss trip 2016

The one wet evening of the two week trip. A chilled from down from Wengen to Lauterbrunnen. The clip doesn't do any justice to the steepness of the track. I rode some pretty scary stuff without issue over the course of the trip, but took a massively heavy fall yesterday on my first ride back...

just bought a KTM Bosch cx ..super happy!

Hi Joe, sorry for the delay in replying. The Corfe ride was a Wiggle mtb event that I took part in. I'm from Crowborough, so that was a quite a trip and long day for me. Well worth the effort though. Ref the riding above the assist level. Part of the issue is that because you get assist up to...

    Swiss trip 2016

Final sunny instalment of the ten miles trip back down the mountain from Birg to Stechelberg. Sadly once a gain more walkers to contend with, the ride became more interesting for me at about the ten minute in point.

Very wise purchase. ;) Which model have you chosen? Also if you are interested, there is a KTM sub heading. https://electricbikereview.com/forums/forum/ktm/

    Swiss trip 2016

Part two. The walkers became a bit frustrating, and I stop at roughly the 6.20 point, as what the clip doesn't show, is that the strip of concrete is seemingly almost vertical. I started to ride down it, but then decided to take a more zig zag route down to the side. My balls aren't that big...

    Great Article re Ravi!

Still no info of the elevation gain for the ride. The mileage and record doesn't interest me, but the elevation gain does.

    Swiss trip 2016

Birg cable car station to Stechelberg part one. The long pause at 2.07 and 2.57 is because despite riding up the route, I had no idea of where to ride when coming back down.
