    Best dual-suspension trail bike...

Care to expand upon that by saying why? Subject to intended use, I'd certainly recommend KTM, but that isn't to say that they are the best. To my mind, there is no best. There are too many variables to come to a conclusion of what is the best bike, but KTM represents the best available to me...

Pedalling a Bosch CX without any motor assist

I can confirm that even with the assist level turned off, that for every one pedal stroke, the sprocket turns 2.5 times. :) In my case running a 15t front sprocket, that equates to a standard 37.5 front sprocket size.

Pedalling a Bosch CX without any motor assist

I've never found it an issue, and have even used the bike intentionally turned off completely when out on off road group rides with non ebike riders. I kind of use the extra weight of the bike as training aid, and also to shut up moaning regular mtb riders, especially when I get to top of a...

    Some unusual accessories

Not wishing to comment on the bike that you have shown, I do have to agree in very general terms. I can't believe the amount of people over here in the UK, that buy an eMTB, then instantly add an array of pointless accessories that render the bike even heavier and not fit to use off road. With...

    ktm macina lycan 27 gps+

Many thanks for the kind words Bob. All healed and good now. :) Ref the nasty person, I am keeping a very close eye on someone from my home town, who has made persistent threats against local mtb riders via Facebook. He has taken objection to mountain bikes being ridden well within the law, on...

    Haibke front sprocket

Thankfully the KTM cases give enough clearance not to have to worry. :) I have still ripped one to shreds though, when a large flint span up and became wedged.

    Haibke front sprocket

Afraid that I don't know the first thing about what sprockets that Haibike run on their bikes, but odd peculiarities in fit have cropped up lately, especially with bikes from Giant. You can certainly buy 16t sprockets that aren't raised, and by raised I assume that you are meaning the e bike...

    Night commuting

@Amanda Look on Ebay at Laser cycle lights. Check the legality of using them first though. They aren't legal here in the UK.

    Range: Fact vs. Fiction

For my use, battery range is an impossible thing to gauge, as my terrain and riding conditions are never really the same, and my bike set up is often changing. As examples though, the 10.4 mile long climb as shown below which covered an elevation gain of 6,428ft, required a battery change at...

Let's see your best pic of your electric bicycle

Thank you SCbiker. The photos were taken on private woodland that I have riding access to, on the edge of Ashdown Forest, here in the UK.

Let's see your best pic of your electric bicycle

Thank you both for the kind words. The rest of the photos that were taken during the same ride, can be found here 'Morning fun' https://www.facebook.com/edwardpeterjefferies/ I actually quite like this one from yesterday's ride as well.

    eMTB off road photo thread.

Bringing things up to date. A very light dusting of white stuff. Trail building. Out and about. Back to wet and muddy riding. A night ride that was cold enough to freeze the water in the Camelbak, freeze mud to the frame as it hit, and freeze mud to the rear mech, so making gear...

    Haibike or Scott E Genius

If the Scott is one of the bikes that they have conveniently left the chain guard and main suspension pivot bearing cover off, I'd go for the Haibike. edit.. If you scroll down the recent topics on my newly started eMTB FB page, you will see a thread by someone that has concerns about front...

    Hi from UK

That's interesting, I wasn't sure if my memory had been slipping, so Danny did have a brother? In that handicap race I felt sure that I was in in middle of a Webb sandwich with both riders on 125's., but memory plays tricks. One things for sure, I was never fast. :) Looking at the Bemsee clips...

    Hi from UK

I've shared some good times with John Harris over the years. From pestering as a teenager with non paying jobs on my string of 2t mopeds, to going to bike shows and sharing a few beers with him. One of life's good guys. :) The day that I met Joey, he was indeed heading off to Johns place. They...

    Hi from UK

Sounds like we all have a couple of common interests. :) Back in the day! I never did kick my bad habit of covering the clutch when riding a 4 stroke. 2 strokes have a lot to answer for.:D Sadly it all ended in a very big low, with the death of one of my bests mates son. I quit there and...

    Hi from UK

Not an organised tour, but they do hire out ebikes, and are along coast from Southampton. http://www.50cycles.com/50cycles-shoreham-by-sea.html Can I ask why you have chosen Southampton as your base? If you fancy an eMTB ride and could cope with a large size framed bike, I could always take...

    Another Intuvia question

Plenty of people that I know use the Intuvia port to charge mobile devices. Just one example.
