Night time riding with an Ebike

I guess that I put in about 1,500 - 1,800 miles a year riding off road after daylight hours. I actually prefer it to day time riding, but then we only have weirdos in the woods to worry about at night time, and the only animal hazards are deer. The one thing that I have learnt, is that you...

    2017 KTM Fogo

I have long had a passion for hardtail mtb’s be them analogue or pedal assist, and have found the eMTB version through ownership of the superb KTM Macina Race, to make the perfect bike for wet weather/winter use. With the Macina Race now sold, it is time to introduce the replacement bike, a KTM...

Ebike Motor Power Curve Comparison Chart: BOSCH, Yamaha, Shimano, Brose

This a work in progress, and ignoring the extreme peak, you can get a general idea of peak output from a recent ride that completed using a Bosch CX motor with 50wh battery pack. Watts V altitude. Watts V speed of climb.

5000 Mile World Record e-Bike Ride

It is, but your opinion wasn't factually correct. I simply corrected you accordingly.

5000 Mile World Record e-Bike Ride

But you don't know the complexity, temperature and conditions that the ride is being undertaking in. I'm not asking or expecting you to understand. If it's all the same to you, I will just stick with the advice given by both the mountain guide and doctor. There is good reason that no one has...

5000 Mile World Record e-Bike Ride

Brilliant Ravi, in a positive way. :) That was kind of what I was trying to get across when being negative about your previous ride, and I am so glad that you have said it. :) There are just too many variables that make many an ebike world record pretty meaningless, even if you know that you...

    obsolete

Just back from Switzerland after having completed 53,168ft of elevation gain over a total distance of just 179 miles. :) Just one example 10.2 miles with an elevation gain of 6,353ft

Actual mountain bikers here? Haibike Sduro Nduro RX?

Sadly not exactly the most used forum section. https://electricbikereview.com/forums/forum/mountain/ I certainly get the a maximum use from both of my KTM eMTB's, covering the best part of 4,000 miles a year, the vast percentage of which is on single track, with next to no road miles...

Help chose Ebike full suspension 29" Bosch motor

When you start to narrow your choice down, I would suggest that you ask the dealer some direct questions in relation to the replacement cost of the following items. Front drive sprocket. Any idler sprocket and bearing that may be fitted. The rear mech hanger. Rear suspension bearing and bush...

Help chose Ebike full suspension 29" Bosch motor

I suspect that some of it has to do with 29er's being generally fast cross country bikes, which suits the role of a hardtail. There are certainly plenty of 29er hardtail eMTB's available, and up until this thread I hadn't ever given this any consideration. Edit... The diagram below shows the...

Help chose Ebike full suspension 29" Bosch motor

I'd opt for a KTM any day of the week, but sadly they don't directly offer a 29" off the shelf. The 27.5 plus tyre size bikes come out at 29" but that might not be what you are aiming for. What type of terrain are you intending to ride on?

Riding eMtn Bike too slow and was run off the bike path

I totally agree with you, but wasn't sure whether the view would fall naturally into place, or whether you would need to keep moving your wrist about.

Riding eMtn Bike too slow and was run off the bike path

I have no idea why, but this just cropped up as an advert on my FB page. https://revelationstore.com/products/bicycle-wrist-safety-rearview-mirror I'm not so sure that it would be a bit to distracting though, and possibly not easy to use. .

Brilliant. :) That is pretty much exactly the same as I did with mine. Good to see the photo, as it could help someone else one day.

Riding eMtn Bike too slow and was run off the bike path

Sorry to hear that. :( On the plus side in respect of Intuvia, you can buy an outer replacement bezel. This is a German site, but presumably you can get sorted in the US. https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/bosch-design-mask-for-intuvia-performance-anthrazit-505057/wg_id-17902 There are two...

    eMTB off road photo thread.

Today’s little ride of 52 miles with 6,441ft of elevation gain was kind of a try out for the Swiss trip. I wanted to see how the new handlebar and stem set up would work under a proper test, and also how carrying 5kg of weight in the Camelbak would pan out, in respect of my neck and back. 5Kg...

    New Purion controller

Are you for real? You really can't grasp the fact that Purion is eMTB specific can you, and that by and large, eMTB off road users couldn't care less about what you perceive to be a lack of functions. You clearly don't have the right display set up for you purpose, what ever that might be. It...

    New Purion controller

The new software update available doesn't appeal to me, but it might help with your requirements for the system. I have to shoot off now, but I shall try to find a link explaining about it tomorrow. :)
