Best Accessory from Aliexpress for your espin

I love the Crane bells from Japan. I have a Suzu on my acoustic bike and a Riten on my Espin Sport. https://www.cranebellco.com/

It would be lovely to see them partner with Garmin.

WW Should Make An Ebike For The Boston Police Department

Any idea which department this is? (The mountain in the background is Mt. Rainier so it has to be somewhere near there)

    My Espin Sport

FWIW I have the 2021 Sport that comes with a color LCD. Honestly I would have preferred a single color display with better contrast. The color display washes out badly even on overcast days.

What mods have you made to sport?

I haven’t made any mods yet but a list of the ones I’m likely to do soonish: Brooks saddle Suspension seat post New handlebars (more upright riding position with further sweep back) New platform pedals (not sure which at this point, I may just move the ones from my acoustic bike over) New...

Upgrade ebike and support. Opinions wanted.

I’d verify REI is willing to provide electric support for the S11 before taking the plunge. Based on what you’ve said I’d be hesitant to trust the LBS Tern dealer with anything.

Wow, Nakto turned out to be junk, so what should I get?

I can’t speak to the Aventon as I’m not familiar with the brand. However I did just order a $1500 Espin 21 Sport and so far my experience has been completely different. The deraileur works just fine, though it needs a bit of fine adjustment. The brakes worked fine out of the box. The battery...

    Specialized, Trek, or Gazelle

To OP: I’d suggest taking each of the bikes you are considering for a test ride. I’d also try to get a feel for the shop while you are at it. Do they seem to know their stuff? Do they inspire confidence they will be able to fix any problems you might encounter? What do the Yelp and Google...

    6.4", 310lbs, 34"inseam stepthrough help needed

Unfortunately a bit on the pricey side but Zize bikes makes bikes for heavy riders: https://zizebikes.com/product-category/bicycles/electric-bike-or-e-bike/ Also many cargo bikes have 350 lb. and up weight limits (though many say max rider weight should be 275 or less) At 310 you should be OK...

Espin Sport vs. Ride1Up 700 vs. Aventon Level help me choose

Which is sadly a disadvantage as well, especially if you live in a city/state with high sales taxes. But I do get the point and this is why I almost went with the Level. Then I called the local shop and they said while they had demo units I could test ride the soonest I could take a bike home...

Espin Sport vs. Ride1Up 700 vs. Aventon Level help me choose

The only reason I’m contemplating a fender replacement is to get more tire coverage. Besides I’m a sucker for Honjo fenders. I’ll keep you in mind if I decide to do a controller swap.

Espin Sport vs. Ride1Up 700 vs. Aventon Level help me choose

I ordered a blue Espin Sport Thursday. Ultimately it came down price and things I can easily change on the bike vs things I can’t. For Espin the price, weight, battery mount, and front rack mount are all deciding factors. Ride1UP charging state sales taxes is what tipped it for me. I figure I...

Espin Sport vs. Ride1Up 700 vs. Aventon Level help me choose

Hmm, the Espin has a slightly smaller battery at 653wh vs 672wh for the E1U 700 and Level. This is indeed coming down to a tough choice.

Espin Sport vs. Ride1Up 700 vs. Aventon Level help me choose

Hmm, based on what I know I’d likely eventually make most of the same modifications to the Espin. Points in favor of the Espin for me: Price, battery mount, and front rack mount. Points in favor of the R1U 700 for me: More “ready to go” as delivered, arrives slightly sooner, step through the...

Espin Sport vs. Ride1Up 700 vs. Aventon Level help me choose

I was probably thinking of the shifter on the Espin which lacks the indicator and I believe is push to both up and down shift. I’m not so sure how much I care about an indicator but have enough experience to know I like push/pull triggers or old school shift levers.

Espin Sport vs. Ride1Up 700 vs. Aventon Level help me choose

So I take it the stock Espin controller doesn’t offer the flexibility out of the box the R1U 700 does? What is the cost/work involved in adding an aftermarket controller? From a “solid bones” perspective what favors the Espin over the R1U 700? What mods do you make (other than controller) to...
