Most of the big name brand mid-drive ebikes are all 250w. At least if you look at Cannondale, Giant, Specialized, Trek, etc. or anything with Bosch, Brose, Shimano, or Yamaha mid-drives.

Another heavy owner of an Espin Sport here. I had 2 broken spokes after just 53 miles. I suspect the problem is the machine made wheels have too high a tension from the factory causing spoke fatigue.

That really depends on the strength of the chain. With an IGH you can use a belt or a very strong chain. A rear freewheel or cassette with 6, 7, 8, or even 9 gears can use a much stronger chain than the “modern” 10, 11, and 12 speed cassettes.

Around here a number of shops make most of their money through repairs. For me personally while I can do a lot of work myself I’d rather pay a shop to do it.
