    Bosch range boost - questions

Sadly is right. I am posting to reiterate this because I was previously posting Trek Domane+ HP official specifications that diagrammed using a 625. After other posts mentioned that basic measurement of the Domane+ HP will show that a 625 physically cannot fit, so the Trek document is not...

7 Problems in 14 Days Ownership: 2021 Trek Domane HP Electrical Bike You Should Avoid At All Cost

This post conveys the wrong message to potential Domane+ HP owners since it isn't about this model of bike. As others have stated, this really points to the service you are getting - and it is real unfortunate that you are in this situation. The warning here: If you are going to spend this...

    What size screw?

I was always needing different lengths of M5 for different bicycle mounting uses so I bought from Amazon a variety kit: Glarks 150Pcs M5 Stainless Steel Button Head Hex Socket Head Cap Bolts Screws Nuts Assortment Kit It is also useful to have some washers that fit as well.

    What size screw?

When putting in a longer screw into the downtube, remove the battery first so you can monitor how deep the screw goes, otherwise if too long it will interfere with the battery. Worse, if the battery is installed, then the screw could screw into the battery and cause damage.

Possible to Use PowerTube 500 on 2 Different Bikes?

I actually got this information by contacting Trek HQ. I think they refer to this document to answer the question if a 625 fits. So they answer that it can fit. The problem is, on my Domane HP, I don't see the extender attached to the 500 battery. If I measure the opening in the frame it is...

Possible to Use PowerTube 500 on 2 Different Bikes?

This has come up before that the Domane+ HP might only take a 500, but Trek documentation shows otherwise:

    Removing battery when transporting

If you search this you will find this is the title for the same part number. I am guessing maybe this indicates 2nd generation, then 3rd generation, then 4th generation ... and they all used the same connector so you have this series of numbers. I was confused too initially. You will find...

    Removing battery when transporting

I started out removing mine, but it became a pain. So now I only do it for long trips. My racks can hold the weight, and I figure the bike can handle the weight of me and the battery it can handle the battery and not me. For Bosch: Bosch Battery Contact Pin Cover - BDU2XX, BDU3XX, BDU4XX...

Ordered a new Domane HP today

Made more updates to the post. Shimano specs weight at 114 link but sells as 116 so I was tricked. Yes, can remove links.

Ordered a new Domane HP today

There is going to be a lot of variance in chain life depending on environment, use model, and maintenance. To me, it isn't important to know when it will wear out given you know for sure it will wear out. Anyone with this bike has more than $7,000 into it. It doesn't seem unreasonable to...

Ordered a new Domane HP today

Everything below is qualified by: "in my opinion" The reason to run tubeless on a bike like this is to avoid fixing flats on the side of the road. Does it improve the ride? Yes ... because you are riding and not having your partners wait or calling for a pickup when you get a flat. That...

Ordered a new Domane HP today

The Schwalbe One tires make it very difficult to determine if they are tubeless ready. I expect they are the same as the 2 HP's I have in the garage, and after frustrating research I determined they are tubeless ready and I am running them tubeless on one bike. The other I am running...

    Update on Domane HP ownership

If you want the front light properly adjusted, you don't get to choose the Kiox mount angle as the light angle changes with it. The light is very bright and in my opinion should be carefully adjusted like a car headlight to get the most forward throw without blinding cars. After adjusting...

    Acoustic Alternate / Backup Bike

I think you have become aware that you are asking about any brand of analog bike in a Trek specific ebike forum. You have already answered your own question, though, which is that you want a backup bike because you had trouble getting parts for your bike ... so the answer is any bike that you...

Bontrager Lync lighting system on Domane + HP

To be able to turn the light on and off from the Kiox button is a simple software setting that your LBS can set. It will default off, and when you turn it on, the "bright" button on the controller also still works as intended. The front light works very well at night, especially if you...

    Trek Domane +HP 2021

The Trek Domane+ HP has enough power. I would worry about too much power and being dangerous for someone older rather than not enough ... but you can set the power level reasonably and control your speed and keep things safe. If you have a shop order one in if it is available in your size, or...

My updated Trek Domane +HP review - now with 4565 miles on it

This was what I thought when I bought the bike. Although I haven't installed a 625Wh myself, I was happy to learn it is supported. I defer to Trek's authority here.

My updated Trek Domane +HP review - now with 4565 miles on it

I am curious what part of the brakes were replaced? I replaced my front pads at about 1300 miles, and the rear at about 1600 miles. I replace with the same resin pads (but the package from Shimano had a sticker that they now last 25% longer, so not sure which formula was originally on the...

    Update on Domane HP ownership

It would be expected over the first month the shifting to need a slight tuning as the cable settles in. Your shop can tune it but one click counter-clockwise on the derailleur cable barrel adjuster might be all that is needed. As there is no front chainring cage given it is a 1x system, you...
