Rad Wagon and direct drive fearless motor concerns

Thanks RangerDave for the informative and detailed reply. It sounds like our riding styles and terrain are very similar though you probably have more hills than I do on the coast. From your experience I feel that I'm making too much of the "drag" issue. As I said in my original post, this will...

Rad Wagon and direct drive fearless motor concerns

AHicks, thanks for clarifying that issue with drag. I read about these modifications frequently. Do you do it or is it something that needs an experienced bike mechanic. I assume one has to buy an entire new wheel with the motor. How does that influence the controller and the LCD panel? If...

Rad Wagon and direct drive fearless motor concerns

Thanks for the information. I never knew that these bikes would coast freely when powered on. Doubtful I will be riding a cargo bike without PAS. The hills here are really more like inclines and I don’t have large intersections to cross as I can get where I need to on sidewalks and trails so the...

Rad Wagon and direct drive fearless motor concerns

I am considering a Rad Wagon to do grocery shopping and light errands, not hauling bricks or heavy duty stuff. My main bike is a mid drive commuter/urban and I have a rear hub geared 350 watt for guests. While I would love to buy a mid drive cargo bike, the additional costs don't seem warranted...

Shimano Steps E6000 inaccurate speedometer and odometer

Thanks speedup.nate for your help. I have known that I couldn't achieve 20 mph and I think that is what has really bothered me about this. Thanks for not giving up and inspiring me to attempt to get this resolved. Great information.

Shimano Steps E6000 inaccurate speedometer and odometer

Thank you. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth. I'll just use GPS for stats.

Shimano Steps E6000 inaccurate speedometer and odometer

Thank you. I thought it might be due to circumference and there is absolutely no way for end user to change anything except the time and clear the distance, as you well know. I'll try to find a dealer with the equipment but don't have much hope finding anyone close by. It's annoying because so...

Shimano Steps E6000 inaccurate speedometer and odometer

Does anyone know if there is a dealer software correction for an inaccurate speedometer? My speedometer has been 1.5 to 2.0 mph faster than GPS and my wife's E6000 system. The odometer is also optimistic. I will read 20 miles but GPS and wife's bike says 18.5 miles. Is there a way to correct...

    Washing an e-bike

I have an Ebikes with an external downtube mounted battery. Is it better to leave the battery on while washing. My system is Shimano Steps E6000. When the battery is off the vertical pins that plug into the battery are totally exposed. As I am writing this I’m thinking maybe just a damp sponge...

    Indiegogo, Kickstarter, Crowd Funding???

Thanks for your explanation and viewpoint. I own 2 ebikes: A Raleigh Misceo IE Sport mid drive and a Qualisports Volador, both purchased at my LBS. I feel that it is one thing for a venture capital firm to invest in a new company as there is a contract with specific provisions. It is another...

    Indiegogo, Kickstarter, Crowd Funding???

I understand that this is a means for companies to capitalize or fund their development of new products. But what exactly is the "contribution"? Is there a minimum contribution? Does one get anything for the contribution? As for the "perks" it appears to me that they are just opportunities to...

Known Issues & Problems with Aventon Products + Help, Solutions, & Fixes

Great explanation. My neighbor has the Pace 500 and has a lot of trouble with PAS surge. He has lost control a few times in tight turns. I have a Qualisports Volador and the power delivery is ultra smooth.

Can the Dolphin 2.3 inch tire be fitted on the Volado rims?

Thanks for the input. I agree as I measured the chainstay and fork and felt there was enough room. Curiously, I asked The same question of Qualisports and they immediately said no because the tires were larger without any real explanation.

Can the Dolphin 2.3 inch tire be fitted on the Volado rims?

Thanks for the input. I did not install the fenders on the Volador and I think the clearance from the chain stays seems adequate. But good point on the top of the front fork. That could be the sticking point.

Can the Dolphin 2.3 inch tire be fitted on the Volado rims?

I would like to have the increased stability and comfort of the Dolphin 2.3s over the Volador 1.9s. Does anyone know if they can be fitted to the existing Volador rims. Thanks
