Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Stefan, I put the SQL inner bars up against my grips and did move the brake levers out a little. It’s not a problem at all and the brake levers are still an easy reach from both the grips and the inner ends.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Stefan, another option for a more aero position is one that has been discussed before, but might be worth revisiting, is the SQ Labs inner bar end. I use them (along with the GP3) and they let me get lower and bring my elbows in, which is also important for an aero position. They feel a lot like...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I do see the E5 (Aluminum Creo) shows the stand over heights your chart shows, with all the other models showing the much lower heights in my post. I wonder if the Specialized data for the E5 is an error. When I tested my Vado SL against a Creo, I rode and XL aluminum Creo and it was much lower...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I tested an XL Creo along with the XL Vado SL that I ended up buying and the Creo was much smaller. I wonder if your measurements are off - My chart shows these stand over heights (2021 models) for the Creo: S 731, M 759, L 782, XL 810, XXL 840. The Vado SL shows as: S 770, M 790, L 815, XL 840...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

If you flip a +6 stem, you will be 20mm lower with a 7mm longer reach. This site gives a good visual comparison: http://yojimg.net/bike/web_tools/stem.php

Getting Creo Power data on Garmin Edge

Yes, my garmin 130 plus does show my power in all assist modes, including no assist (power on but without assist).

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

Interesting - I would not have known that the chain is meant to be installed on specific chain ring teeth. I looked up the praxis install doc and see that say “align outer link with inner tooth”. Makes sense when looking at the diagram. Thanks for the tip, and a good one for Kahn to check as...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I haven’t seen a description of the Specialized battery management system but I know electric cars‘ lithium ion battery packs typically reserve 5% or so capacity both at the top and bottom ends. Fully charging or discharging drastically reduces cell life. A side benefit (for the manufacturer) is...

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

Here’s a copy of the email confirmation that class 3 specialized bikes can be restricted to class 1 standards: Hey there, Thanks for reaching out! These bikes can have their output adjusted at your local retailer. This will allow you to take the class 3 bike and drop the speed assist to 20 mph...

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

I asked Specialized corporate by email if a Vado sl could be restricted to meet class 1 standards ( an inquiry I made for a friend who wanted to ride on bike paths without worry of liability) and they assured me that it can be. They said it is an easy procedure the LBS can do. When she asked at...

    6 months of creo!

What’s the 14lb bike you’re getting? It’s amazing bikes can be so light. I thought my carbon road bike was light at 21 lb when I got it 15 years ago.

Vado SL 5.0 -- reasonable range on hills? (Mt. Diablo, CA)

When I ran RIDE as a stand alone app it only recorded basic speed, time and a few other things. I noticed that it listed the rides I had done in the past using mission control so I opened those and it gave me all kinds of additional data - power, motor power, battery info, etc. I’m thinking the...

Vado SL 5.0 -- reasonable range on hills? (Mt. Diablo, CA)

I just took a ride using the specialized RIDE app (iOS version) and don’t see any motor or power data. There really isn’t much info besides speed, time and elevation. Did you run mission control at the same time perhaps? I don’t run MC and BLEVo still shows those values.

    Vado SL rear light mount

Thanks, I lost track of that second thread you posted. The selle saddle one of the posters used had holes that lined up with the light mount. That’s convenient!

    Vado SL rear light mount

I’m thinking of trying a different saddle on my SL 4.0 and am wondering how people have dealt with the rear light mounting on the new saddle. Any generic hardware options or other ideas are welcome.

Vado SL 5.0 -- reasonable range on hills? (Mt. Diablo, CA)

Just downloaded the specialized RIDE app but I don’t see how to add a polar heart rate monitor. All I find in the app and the documentation is about ANGi. Anyone help with this?

Vado SL 5.0 -- reasonable range on hills? (Mt. Diablo, CA)

How does this app compare with Blevo? I use my Garmin 130 while on my rides but I run Blevo on my iPhone and look at the stats after the ride. I like the battery and power data Blevo gives but it’s inaccurate with elevation gain and some of the mileage markers. I also read that it won‘t work...

Class 1 alternative to Vado SL?

My Vado sl 4.0 sticker is on the seat tube, just below the water bottle mount. “Class 3, 240 W, 28 mph”

Class 1 alternative to Vado SL?

(I’m the o.p.) My friend asked her local Specialized store if it is possible to restrict the Vado SL to meet class 1 standards and was told no, it can’t be done. She then emailed Specialized corporate with the same question and was told Yes, it is an easy process that can be done at the local...
