Drivetrain longevity on 2023 Surface 604 V Rook

Not the Park Tool brand degreaser - that’s $17 a pint.

Again, different strokes for different folks. I like that the Clean Streak doesn't need to be rinsed with water afterwards. I haven't done a cost analysis of the Clean Streak cans versus the Park tool degreaser bottles.

Ultra Tuning: Where other guides go wrong

This is an Ultra Tuning thread, and I've been quite detailed in the descriptions of the data I've gathered on the Ultra motor, including precise instructions for anyone wishing to replicate/challenge the results I've seen firsthand.

    REAL bargains

The horn angle adjustment was important to me. Getting the grip flat spot right is really important to prevent wrist issues and I didn't want to have to sacrifice horn angle for that. I don't usually ride on the horns and I don't ride in cold weather where the metal being cold would be an issue...

Drivetrain longevity on 2023 Surface 604 V Rook

I might agree with it being harder to hold, but not on the other points. It's good that there are different high quality products for us to choose from!

Drivetrain longevity on 2023 Surface 604 V Rook

With the 12-42 rear, would you go back to the 42T front chainring? EDIT: Here's a page you can use to compare gear ratios: https://www.bikecalc.com/gear_ratios Wolftooth makes good products. I have one of their narrow-wide chainrings and it's holding up great with a mid-drive. With a hub motor...

    REAL bargains

Just found these on Amazon, which appear to be the same thing, different brand name and slightly cheaper!

Drivetrain longevity on 2023 Surface 604 V Rook

Hard to go wrong with Park Tool stuff, but I found that this Clean Streak setup to be better for me: https://www.amazon.com/White-Lightning-Clean-Streak-Degreaser/dp/B000AAEDC6/ With a hub motor you shouldn't have a problem with backwards pedaling to move the chain with either setup, but for...

BBS** Settings/Pedal Assist/Stop Decay *Excellent Motor Refinement *

Intellectually, this makes sense - applying more current when some current still being applied should feel smoother than starting up from no current applied, especially if the controller is looking at wheel rpm to determine if "Slow Start Mode" should be applied. Going back to the "sacred"...

Installed a Rohloff Speedhub 14, IGH on my mid-drive Luna Z1 Ultra Mag

Looking at Luna's site now I came across this photo: Maybe what I thought was a derailleur was the actual tensioner?

Installed a Rohloff Speedhub 14, IGH on my mid-drive Luna Z1 Ultra Mag

I rode a friend's Luna Apex with Rohloff some years back. It didn't have the Chain Guide, but it did have a derailleur! I asked about why it still had a derailleur when it had only one cog in the back and the owner said it was to have tension on the chain so it didn't fall off during hard...

I don't have a BBSxx so I can't say who's right, but in this Endless Sphere post, Ken Taylor says in part: The Kurt Kinetic rolling road is a stationary trainer that reports data back to a smartphone app. Between this and Taylor's ride data that incorporates speed, power, and cadence, if I...

The graph, if correct, would be a great way to visualize what's happening with the BBS motors. A good graph is worth a thousand words. You're misreading me if you think I'm "touting it as gospel." I still haven't seen any corrections to it, and I haven't seen anyone with better explanations of...

Installed a Rohloff Speedhub 14, IGH on my mid-drive Luna Z1 Ultra Mag

I've done a bunch of isolation/reverse engineering testing on my Ultra. I found that using the EggRider was great for a few reasons. My procedure is to have a section of a road that has very very little car traffic, so I can run the tests on the same road with the same riding style, have my...

I'm 99% certain that the parameters you're changing on the Pedal Tab have no effect on the Bafang Ultra motor's behavior. See this thread: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/ultra-tuning-decoding-the-pedal-assist-tab.52525/ in which I quote from Karl's original Bafang Ultra tuning...
