    What causes loose spokes

To expound on this a bit further, wheel diagnosis is actually pretty complicated. We would like to think our wheels are built like DT Swiss: But most are probably built with some machines like this: Or worse. At any rate, spokes can stretch, the elbows deform, or hitting bumps can deform...

Ok, glad I found the GBR forum, as in GasBikeReview.com. I was scared there for a minute as I need help servicing the 2-stoke engine on my gas-powered bicycle. Thought about an electric bicycle, but that battery manufacturing does so much damage to the environment and besides, I need something...

You sure that works with the M620? App description says it connects wirelessly.

The only thing I can suggest is to do a factory reset on the display. From the manual:

Yeah, Write/Save often when using EggRider. I had this question, too. The Mike/Frey guide insists that there is some hidden difference, but I couldn't sense any. If you're set to use 9 PAS levels, then you could try switching while riding to see if anything changes. Otherwise, Eco/Sport might...

    Bafang Ultra Recommended Chain

It’s a good idea, with the hopefully obvious caveat that if you currently use your lowest gear a lot, that gear will also become higher. If you make this change, do it before you install a new chain as it probably will need to be longer than your old one for optimum shifting.

    Bafang Ultra Recommended Chain

Just to expand with details on my previous post: 1 From this post: 2. From this 2019 Dec Chain Wear Test: For 11-speed chains: For 12-speed chains: Interestingly, they also tested 8, 9, and 10 speed chains and found that the 11 and 12 speed chains were MORE durable! So it would seem...

    Bafang Ultra Recommended Chain

FWIW, the SRAM X01 12-speed chains on our two Ultra powered bikes are doing very well after over 2k miles. I’ve posted the actual stretch in another thread if you’re interested. That chain came out on top on a pretty in depth test some years ago, even compared to 12 speed chains. I know most...

Some questions and thoughts: What is your lowest PAS setting? What PAS level are you riding at? Do you find yourself changing PAS levels a lot, and if so, under what circumstances? If you're riding at something other than Level1, simply choose a lower level to limit the motor power. If PAS...

This blog post claims that while more magnets do make the display's speed readout track speed changes more closely, it actually introduces more errors at higher speeds. Granted this was for BBS* motors, not the Ultra Max, but the logic that the sensor can't handle too many magnet passes...

Two things not mentioned so far: 1) On a full suspension bike, like the Ultra CC, the distance between the rear derailleur and front chainring gets longer as the bike suspension compresses. So, what might shift OK on a bike stand or on slow flat riding may not be OK when you're really huffing...

Can I program the Bafang Ultra 510/620 throttle for full power in all pas levels?

First thing I'd try is to unplug, wait a bit, then replug the battery. Second thing is to examine all your wiring for breaks and abrasions, especially where the wires enter the frame. I had a some abrasion at a metal grommet that eventually cut through a wire, causing weird problems and then...

More people live in the cities than not, so that the cities went quickly over to automobiles proves the adoption point, and lays a historical foundation for EV adoption as well. Now it's more suburbia that will adopt quickly (many New Yorkers don't even own cars), while rural areas will be...

You're right! The percentage of CO2 in our atmosphere is about 0.04%. Not 4%, not 4/10%, but 4/100 of a percent! Unfortunately, small amounts make a big difference in how much heat the planet retains, and that percentage has been steadily increasing, with bumps during the Industrial Revolution...

Best method/kit to bleed shimano brakes

+1 on both responses, above. To add: I went into bicycle bleeding thinking it was like automotive brake bleeding. It's only sort-of like it. I think the differences come down to the very narrow tubing to which air bubblies cling, and that the calipers and levers aren't designed to flush out all...
