I’m late to this thread, but since you have a Shimano Deore derailleur you should follow Shimano instructions, not SRAM. Some of the wide range SRAM derailleurs might have different chain length requirements.

I've been running the X01 chains on mine and my wife's Ultra/GX setup. Last time I checked we have over 2,000 miles and hardly any measurable wear, using a Starrett digital caliper.
