Shocker new frame required. Game over Specialized, will be moving to Trek.

Baco Noir...what bike did you have the Roval's on? I had a set on a carbon Stumpy- and never a lick of problems in 4 years of unforgiving riding. And I am 230 lbs. And now I have a set of them on a gravel bike and a set on my wife's gravel bike. Again, no issues. And lots of sets sold out of our...

    New Vado 5

Not sure if the Class 3 is legal or not in my area. I tend to ride very conservatively and respectfully, so I expect no hassle from the authorities. I just want to occasionally keep up with traffic for safety reasons, not race past them. The reason for the wider tires - I commute daily on this...

Which frame lock mounts to the Specialized Turbo factory mounts?

Sounds like a pretty good setup you have already. Locks can get very heavy to haul around:)

Which frame lock mounts to the Specialized Turbo factory mounts?

I looked it up: It was in Vado Security Issues thread. CNC would be a wonderful tool/skill to have. But now we are preparing to downsize so tools are slowly going out, not in. I used to build airplanes, both R/C and full size stunt plane (look up Baby Great Lakes if your curious), windsurfers...

    Vado security strategies

Quadracer...how thick is the aluminum mounting plate material? Was going to make my own like yours to mount the frame lock.

My Life with a Vado 5.0; I Want Out

IME the Mission Control app is far more relevant to my Levo than my Vado or Como. Kind of like buying adjustable head golf clubs...once I set it up and play with the settings a bit I rarely look at changing the settings. On the Levo I will use it to make sure I have enough battery life to get me...

Vado 5 not responding issue - power and assist surge

Good to hear your issues are getting worked out. I read all the posts and hate to hear somebody being held back from riding due to bike issues. I am heading off to Specialized next week for more service training, and expect to get some on servicing the the new Creo road ebikes. Market is ever...

    New Vado 5

My 2020 Vado 5.0 came with 48T ring. The headlight is the new Supernova and is lower mounted. I always keep a second accessory light on the bar for those times you need extra visibility. I think it is a Light and Motion TAZ 1500 (a bit overkill :)). Also changed my grips to Ergon's and building...

Lock and security choices for Vado 5

Although they are considered a fairly low security level, amsterdam/frame locks are pretty easy to operate and store right on the bike. The more locks a thief has to deal with, the better...is my way of thinking. Because of mis-alignment of mounting holes between the lock and mounting bosses on...

Which frame lock mounts to the Specialized Turbo factory mounts?

Somewhere else in the Forum a fellow rider made an aluminum adapter plate rather than elongating the mounting holes in the lock itself. If your a bit handy with files and maybe a Dremel and a drill, it would be fairly easy to make this adapter plate at home. I am guessing I will use 1/4"...

    Technically an Ebike or not???

Something to keep in mind...we share the road/trails with other users and ride responsibly and preferably legally. Tick off the wrong 'other user', who then reports it and see what happens to access be it roads or trails or bike paths. Great article about this today on PinkBike.com re Vermont's...

Cold and wet weather cycling wear

Different price point, but bombproof and waterproof- Endura MT500 has proven one of the best I have tried. Lots of great rain wear out there, but when it comes to a riding fit not all pass the test.

    Loose front fork?

Sounds like a loose headset. If your not familiar with adjustments for that I would spend a couple of bucks and get a shop to do the adjustments. Better than beating up internal components continually.

    Suspension seat post - Kinekt

Have used Thudbuster LT on several bikes now for my wife and I with great success. I have them set up for our weights on a small Como and a large Vado. Kinect is very nice but expensive here in Canada (double the Thudbuster). I have learned that if my butt is bouncing my pedal stroke is not...

    New Vado 5

Sierratim I bought Ortlieb E-Mate bags for my wife's 2020 Como 5 and my Vado 5 and they came with QL2.1 adjustable top-rail clamps that and work fine with the Racktime rack on the Vado. I am going to install an Axiom Journey Mk3 Uni-fit rear carrier on the Como this spring (we are knee deep in...

    2.5-3" tires with puncture protection?

I have done a lot of research lately into this topic. Almost easier to search thru manufacturers sites and then find where you can buy the tires. One thing to look for with an ebike tire, especially an s-pedalec, is a tire with burlier sidewalls. A bike that is heavier going into corners at...

    ebike withdrawal

Regarding the toe warmers...where exactly do you put them? I need to start using them in my winter boots and I have heard they can get very hot. Would like not to burn my feet.

Are you telling me you are carrying the spare battery in a backpack?!

It fits with no problems and they give you a shoulder carry strap, extra shims for proper fit to rack top rail, and a securing strap in the bag stops any wobble. A proper piece of kit.
