Hands going numb during a trail ride

If hands have no real pressure on them then Sweep angle of bars can be something else to explore for proper fit. SQLabs bars are good ones to investigate. I purchased Baramind bars for my wife's Como upon Stefan's recommendation. I am fortunate to have no issues with 'sleepy' hands, but my wife...

Replacing the drivetrain in Vado SL 4.0: Does it make sense?

When I wear out my original 11-42 cassette a bit I was thinking of switching to 11-40 cassette on my Vado 5.0, just to tighten up the shifting there. At this time I rarely need the 42T cog.

Replacing the drivetrain in Vado SL 4.0: Does it make sense?

I believe you will need to upgrade the R. derailleur too to make it work as smooth as you desire. If the 10 speed is driving you crazy then go for it. You at least could re-use the already internally routed shift housing (bonus).

The Original Bell on Your Trek

You might want to check the basic necessary equipment needed in your area on any bike. Usually a bell (noise signalling device) is on that list. I have a Crane brand bell on a couple of bikes. Really nice ringing tone that people turn and look for the source.

CLASS 1 EBIKES: A VANISHING BREED?

Mmmm, no excuses for their mistakes. Sorry for mine.

CLASS 1 EBIKES: A VANISHING BREED?

You might be looking at the U.S. site, as the Canadian site is in metric numbers, and says 32kph, as far as I can find. They are pretty careful about that stuff. Individual dealer's website might have cut and pasted from U.S. site. There have been both 4.0 and 5.0 Vado SL and Como SL in our...

CLASS 1 EBIKES: A VANISHING BREED?

Specialized and Shimano dealers can set the speed limit of a U.S. bike to Canadian limit of 32kph if you so desire.

Help choosing step-through -- Moustache Lundi 7.1 or Specialized Turbo Como 3.0?

Specialized makes the Como 3.0 in S and L. Only the non-stepthru model is available in a medium and XL, I believe. I work in a shop that sells Bosch and Shimano equipped bikes, and the full line of Specialized bikes. And I am certified to work on each brand. I personally own a small Como and a...

Design error on the battery lock on Turbo Vado 5, and more models…?

I understand that Abus is known as a quality lock maker for many ebike companies. Not sure about Stromer, but the issue with Como/Vado locks seems to have been taken care of, at least on my 2020 bikes. I would think new locks could be purchased from a Specialized or Abus dealer.

How to Prevent Flat Tires on Electric Bikes

If you wander around the rolling resistance website referenced by Alaskan you will find an article and test about adding sealer to tubes. There is a lot of interesting and useful info on this site.

How to Prevent Flat Tires on Electric Bikes

Was scouring a few suppliers the other night, looking for vapourware, and noticed a couple of other tire/tube manufactures are doing similar style of tubes to Tubolito. I invested in my first set of Tubolito's on my 700 x 40 non-electric gravel bike which was until now tubeless. Nothing against...

    well a cracked rim sucks.

Which hub and spokes did you end up with? If I understand your calculation of 300lbs total weight you might be at the upper limit of this rim. It is a very nice looking wheel!

Can 2019 Rad Rover rims be converted to tubeless?

What tire is it? According to Maxxis website Minion comes in 2.6 both in 27.5 and 29er, and up to 2.5 in 26. It's a beautiful tire for it's intended purpose, but being a DH oriented tire, in a 4.8 width it would probably win the award for heaviest fat bike tire.

Can 2019 Rad Rover rims be converted to tubeless?

There will be all kinds of opinion on this subject, but having done a few hundred conversions, unless a rim and tire are tubeless , your likely asking for a lot of work and most likely heartache in the end. And in a true fat bike tire there is lots of room for error and wasted sealant. And...

what is the most comfortable and safe helmut you've used

MIPS is an important feature for sure. Anything that gives you a better chance in an accident👍 Specialized, Lazer and Giro have all worked well for me. Some brands just don't fit well on my noggin, even if I really want to like them. Some models on the tested list are no longer available...

Did you mean it is their shops policy to work on all ebikes? Or all Bosch equipped bikes? Sorry, I am a bit confused.

Realistic mileage for the Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ?

I have a Levo SL and love it. For those who need more than 2x You in power assist, then the regular Levo or Vado is probably more appropriate. It was found in surveys that a big portion of the market never used more than Sport mode assist, and a lot of riders, myself included and most of the...

Known Issues & Problems with Specialized Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Rede, does MC work with 2016 Levo? I have used MC with several Specialized bikes and after learning how it works and all it can do, have never had a lick of problems. I also use a Garmin Explore for other fitness tracking (I hve some heart issues), but find enough adjustments/info on MC to keep...

    Como Handlebars on Vado 5.0

A good dealer nearby is a thing of beauty, no matter what brand you get. Ebikes certainly require more attention than a regular bicycle, and a good dealer will take care of you. Although I service and sell other motors at the store where I work (my retirement job...it's more like going to play...
