    Thank you and Hello!

Wow, What a great looking bike and Raleigh is a quality product. I'm guessing your bike should sell promptly in your area. I just sent your posting to a friend who lives in Clearwater. I agree $800 -ish or maybe try $900 and drop to $800 . I say $900 only because the bike is in such great...

    Down size 26 to 24

I don't dispute any of the technical suggestions offered to 'lower' your bike. I wouldn't do it. If you have the funds, I'd do as Rich C suggested, sell the bike and buy one from a local bike shop that has been sized for you by someone who is competent. From what you've written you barely...

Seat / Saddle advice or opinions.... ?

Hello, I'm far from saddle expert. I've heard similar comments to what JR posted and I agree... "Large, soft saddles can cause numbness 'down there' for me too. Firm saddles that fit my sit bones are very comfortable. With less fleshy tissue my sit bones are what hold me up off the saddle to...

    5000 miles, xm700+

I have an Trek XM700+ with 3000 miles and no problems. I replaced the original fork 1500 miles ago with a Rock Shox Gold shock and love it. My decision was based on improving riding comfort which the shock did exceedingly well, not because of a problem. The stock spring gizmo on the Trek fork...

    Buy now or wait?

Hello Sharkbait, You wrote .."To be clear, I really want to buy now"....Well do it, now !! : ) It appears you're suffering from a bad case analysis paralysis. I'm concerned that whatever bike you buy, whenever you buy it you'll enjoy it for a bit and then, " If I only had waited for ...."...

    Trek VS Specialized

Hello Turbo Vado Pip, I own and ride two Trek e-Bikes, an XM700+ Commuter and a Powerfly 7 MTB. Both bikes are three years old with 5,200 combined miles. Zero problems. As far a Trek Service...A quick story. When my Powefly 7 mtb arrived at my LBS the plastic thumb controller was damaged in...

Need help diagnosing an acceleration problem

I completely agree with 'indianjo. The kind of problem you're describing can be extremely difficult to troubleshoot, if at all. Unless you or a shop can recreate the failure, 'repair' it by doing ??? and then create the failure again by 'undoing ' the fix there is no way to know if the problem...

Bad Surface 604 experience came good, eventually

No need to apologize. You didn't 'do a bad' : ) I still question the claimed repair and thorough testing that was done at their shop prior to your bike being returned when the problem reoccured within the first 3.5 miles of use upon return. Replacing the controller 'may' fix the problem or...

Bad Surface 604 experience came good, eventually

I'm puzzled... In your original posting you wrote...." John said to send the bike in, so I paid $75 to ship it to "Toys 4 Boys Motorsports" in Calgary, Canada. After chasing them and getting them to admit they’d received it (John responded to my multiple emails with "Ok, we have it here...

    Suspension Seat Posts

I completely agree with 'Alaskan'...I have two Kinekt seat posts (aluminum) on my bikes with no problems. I 'only' have 5200 miles as compared to Alaskan's 12,000 miles : ) My e-commuter bike , a Trek XM 700+ is extremely stiff for my back, the Kinekt seat post saved the day.

SURFACE 604 -SLOW SUPPORT, BUT ISSUE EVENTUALLY RESOLVED SATISFACTORILY

Deleted Member 4210..... Regarding your latest post referencing " word blather, proposing b.s., small claims court, and other crap".. 'abridges01' had a problem with his bike... He did what most reasonable folks might do and I quote from his post... "Contacted John Dem at Surface 604 who...

How did you pay ? Credit Card ? ....Please don't say debit card aka cash. If you used a credit card and you haven't exceeded your time limit to dispute the charges, I'd do so as soon as you finish reading this sentence.

    Bosch 400wh battery - $350 (Phoenix, AZ)

Mikk, Thanks for linking the UPS Haz Mat flow chart. To be clear, I'm not with the Haz Mat 'Police', :) but here goes. Mikk you wrote..." you can ship a 300wh battery without haz mat regulation so maybe that's the best way to go? Still dishonest but pretty close?... " I'll start with the...

TREK ALLANT+ ALL THE MODELS (7, 8, 9), ALL THE *Original* SPECS and my 9-15-19 RIde/Review

Howie, I put this exact Rock Shox Paragon Gold on my Trek XM 700 Commuter and love the difference the shock makes. My bike seems to 'hug' the road much more so. The steering seems more 'stable', less twitchy and of course there's the smoothing out ( within reason ) of bumps, etc and reducing...

    Thanks for adding me

A debit card is 'cash' from the merchants perspective. Never ever use a debit card if you have the slightest doubt about a product. There's no buyer protection, no refund like credit cards.

    Blowing Fuses

Under no circumstances would I ever consider 'upping' the fuse rating from it's original 30 amps. That could prove lethal. A lithium Ion battery fire is extremely nasty. You mentioned fuses can fail from built defectively. That opinion is extremely unlikely almost zero, but by replacing the...

Best value (not cheapest) city ebike for hills (with quality components, etc)...

Hello, Everyone has their own style when it comes to choosing an e-Bike. Even though how I made my decision was completely opposite yours, I totally agree with where you are in your selection and the 5 things you care about. I think all five are spot on. I also think your approach to...
