Is it safe to freely use the throttle WHILE PEDALING on a mid drive?

Stefan - for heaven's sake, give this up, PLEASE!!! We all know how you feel about throttles. You're not "converting" anyone, and you're not the throttle police. I always enjoy reading about your riding adventures, and you can be so helpful sometimes, but this side of you is very unpleasant...

I hate it when threads devolve into micturation competitions...

Battery safety education - Only you can prevent battery fires!

I didn't intend to actively admin the thread... Just started it because there didn't seem to be one devoted specifically to battery safety. I thought people could read the thread, visit any links provided, and use what made sense to them 😉.

Stefan - the horse is dead already - put the stick down.

Is it safe to freely use the throttle WHILE PEDALING on a mid drive?

I would LOVE to have a throttle on my mid drive bike! It's the thing I miss most about my Flow. I don't know how drivers are in other places, but American drivers think the roads are only for them, and get quite impatient if you happen to be in mixed company at a stop and don't get going again...

Thanks! I thought it went from Ohio to Erie, PA 🤣! Grew up in NE OH - Geauga County - and am always looking for possible rides for visits back there.

Encinitas City Council declares emergency for e-bikes, bicycles

I think you're wrong on this one, Tom... Weight absolutely does matter when crashing into someone. And, parents are obviously not being responsible here. Someone has to protect the public, and since community values and parental responsibility aren't up to the task, it becomes the government's...

Part of me thinks it all comes down to the parents.

Encinitas City Council declares emergency for e-bikes, bicycles

I just read those articles... Unfortunately, the first example they noted was a teen who got hit by a car while doing everything right, according to witnesses. The problem the article is highlighting is very real, but the problem demonstrated by the first example is a car and infrastructure...

Finally broke through the 10 mile barrier (just barely) 🥳🥳🥳! I hope my conversion is correct...16.3k = 10.1 miles... The best part is I was able to do the ride, AND get through the rest of my day without feeling like I got run over by a truck!

Thinking about this at the end of September

Yes, there are a lot of European options - we were also looking at Mantua to Venice in Italy, but there wasn't as much cycling, and my PM doesn't speak Italian, which would make it difficult to interact with locals, limiting him to the tour group. I liked the idea of the Netherlands, but not...
