    Haibike Stand Over Heights

All I gots; Haibike FS RS, 45 cm frame, 29.5 inches from ground to leading edge of label on top tube, about where you might stand. 27.5 Wheels on this one. I'm 5' 10", reach feels just right. Good luck. -S

A Couple of Bosch Drive System Issues

If you have the clutch type of derailleur that holds the chain in tension perhaps you should unlock it when going into the bog, bending RD's into the spokes is pretty extreme. Or if this makes chain suck worse dedicate and extra water bottle to occasional rinsing of the muddy bugger. -S

    Why No Drop Bars?

I 'drop' to my forearms all the time, on a flat bar. I'm sure you are aware of a few bikes with drop bars. Flat bars seem appropriate for most e-bikers from what I see on the road everyday. I'm passing all but one e-bike, a recumbent. -S

    Not operate the setup menu

Is this the Bosch controller? If so maybe pull off the bike or make sure it is seated properly. Water can be an issue as well. -S EDIT: I gather from your other post that this is a Stromer issue, good luck. -S

    Life span of an eBike

I have set my expectations in the 3 year camp also, doing 25 miles or more nearly everyday. A 2nd battery can help extend life by avoiding deep discharge IMO. I expect the platform (Haibike) to outlast the electric components and hope to do a partial DIY upgrade when required, 750 watt mid drive...

Haibike xduro fs 29 vs Felt Nine e

One of the earlier 'workarounds' was a mechanical reduction of the speed sensor ticks, removing it (or just the magnet) will leave you dead in the dirt. I would not recommend re-inventing the unlocking process when others have made it available for a reasonable price. It's not like you can...

Haibike xduro fs 29 vs Felt Nine e

I like the bikespeed RS, while it is not perfect, dropping out sometimes & jacking average speed it does show actual speedometer and odometer values and there are no wire splices so the install can be seamlessly reversed. I've heard motor sprocket changes can require the adjustment of the gear...

$3,500 would buy a heck of a lock & city kit. The lack of support for the GPS (cell connectivity in general) in the US is what has kept this bike delayed, I have even read that is was only working intermittently in Europe. Besides what are you going to do, chase down some criminal, possibly drug...

Just be aware the throttle experience may be underwhelming, these commercially available e-bikes really need your help to keep a decent pace and range. Of course there are exceptions, what I call electric motorcycles with vestigial pedals such as the 112 lb Bomber, 4.5 Kw under the hood et all...

When is an e-motorcycle better than an e-bike

I have not owned a motorcycle since I was a kid (off road only), last time I rode one was to get around Bali in 1984. The reason is I don't trust myself with too much power, if it will go 180 mph I will go 180 mph, I'm just not disciplined in that respect and have lost too many friends on the...

Don't fall in lust with the ST2, but consider the ST1 - a nice ride with many of the features you want. Order it with a suspension fork (city kit) and add a BodyFloat or Thudbuster on day one. Joe's advice is right on, since you don't ride a video card I would strongly consider that...

    Upgrading Dash brakes to hydraulic?

I was once a Dash owner & quite motivated to replace the mech brakes, do a search & you'll see a history. In the first 1,500 miles I probably adjusted the brakes over 20 times, on my current bike (about 1,500 miles) I have not had to adjust the brakes AT ALL! The connections on the Dash can...

Considering an closeout ST1 but concerned the ST2 battery is not compatible

I doubt they are dropping ST1 production, it is hard enough to sell a 4 thousand dollar bike let alone a 7 or 8 thousand model. They may even be required to support the product for 7 years IIRC. Third party replacements/rebuilds are also likely IMO. -S

Haibike Trekking RX or Stromer ST1 Platinum

I dig my Haibike, hydro brakes, stiff frame et all. Seems to me even the smallest of cars could haul a partially disassembled bike. Pull the wheels, loosen the head tube, take it to a local bike shop for re-assembly if required. Stromer makes nice bikes too but I prefer the suspension and...

Fire destroys E Bikes SF Store

U gotta wonder if a battery pack or charger was the cause, or perhaps several chargers on a 20 Amp circuit. -S
