Creo SL Road E-Bike Rental - Portugal

You have a Creo in the US and want to rent one for ten days in Portugal? I doubt that you will find a Creo or anything similar light there for rent. Creos are not that popular in Europa in general, even less in Portugal. And there aren't many alternatives, the only one I know is with Fazua...

Does Specialized still make E-bikes? (g)

Yes, I've seen the live cam five minutes ago, not that impressive anymore... :-( I think it may become interesting again at night, when you see the rest of the lava glow.

Does Specialized still make E-bikes? (g)

Don't miss Fagradalsfjall! Also lots of ash and smoke but with less bad feelings than in the woods... I think it felt asleep again after it's re-awakening in march 2021. But woke up again 5-6 weeks ago.

Who needs a Creo when you have a Vado

You mean I have to put a big red flag 1x1m on a 3m post on the Creo saying "eBike/Motor!!!!"??? ;-)

Who needs a Creo when you have a Vado

Good boy! ;-) I expected you to ride always unlimited. You mean, on an obviously slower bike he thought it's only you. And on a obviously faster bike, which would normally make it possible to keep up with him, he would have believed you to cheat? Interesting interpretation... ;-)

Who needs a Creo when you have a Vado

I also don't think you need both. And especially with the unlimited SL drive it's not such a big difference. Only with the 25km/h limited version the Creo is siginificantly better, as it ecourages you to pass this limit while the Vado SL tempts you to be lazy and to stuck more time just below...

Who needs a Creo when you have a Vado

I will hold the flag high for the Creo fraction in this thread... ;-) If you are used to drop bars or if you manage to get used to it, it's usually an advantage and raises your avaerage speed/lowers you battery consumption a little bit. And it's less stress for hands and lower back (if you are...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

    The "11" in 1195 or 1175 means 11 gears... ;-)

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

You are right, the Vado SL still rides great completely without motor... But with motor, well just see post 1679... ;-)

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

Highest gear of 10 is great and together with the weight saving worth the money for the new driver. But price for XG-1195 is terrible, more than three times the price of the Shimano XT cassette. An alternative/a compromise could be XG-1175.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Maybe you're right and I'm too impatient. If I ride my Vado SL for a longer period and in different areas there my apperar more use cases or situations where it's great. On the other hand, as my allday bike it has to serve me mostly in our (flat) area here. And with the Creo I never had the...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

Yes, the XT 11x is a good choice, lighter and still a reasonable price.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I don't think so. Imagine your Vado SL motor turning of always at 14mph. What would happen? You would mostly ride at 14mph with little own effort but rarely go up to 15 or 16mph. Honestly spoken, my complaint is not against the Vado SL, it's about our stupid 25km/h limit here. The Creo suffers...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I’ve to express a little bit my disappointment about the Vado SL, at least about the European version limited to 25km/h. While the limited Creo encourages you to pass 25km/h, the limited Vado SL does not or a lot less. At least for a “medium fit” rider like me the gain if it’s flat is often so...

    SL battery health

Looks bad for the Vado 5.0 batteries but great for the Vado SL. Do you have new/actual values for the Vado SL?

    Any info on 2023 Models , 4.0/5.0 Vado's &SL 's ?

And I wouldn't judge other motors to bad. Fazua is a strong and good rival, even more with the new Ride 60. Shimana EP8 with a small&light battery also and a big one. Also the SL noise is not "state of the art" and every year less. Even if I or others can live with it, it scares off quite some...

Changing Vado SL 4.0 fork and fork type...

I changed to 27,5 and 47mm TL gravel tires and TL and a Cane Creek Thudbuster seat post. More about the changes here: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/vado-sl-5-1-gq-a-27-5-650b-gravel-queen.47326/post-553626

    Vado SL 5.1 GQ, a 27.5/650b “Gravel-Queen”

Here comes the next 650B Queen, even if not for gravel: My wife was sometimes complaining that her Vado ST 4.0 is very "hard"/not very comfortable. I only knew the Creo and didn't really know what she was complaining about... I knew that it had futureshock, carbon frame and tubeless, but did...

    Vado SL 5.1 GQ, a 27.5/650b “Gravel-Queen”

If you feel fine with an alloy frame I would try to test a Vado SL and if it this is what your prefer, sell the Creo and take a Vado SL. Thats the safer way to be sure what you get and as the Creo is more expensive, you won't loose money this way.

    Any info on 2023 Models , 4.0/5.0 Vado's &SL 's ?

Mahle X25 and the new (lighter?) X20 are rear hub motors. The SL is the only ebike/pedelec middle motor from Mahle and afaik until 2025 exclusively for Specizlized. And even if it's nice looking, light and silent, I would never buy a racing bike with such a motor. Especially in the mountains...
