Kenda Juggernaut - 26" on RadRhino?

i got 2000 (rear) and 2500 (front) miles out my first two, on pavement (in the US, I assume it's the same tire). But, you say "bald patches". The wear should be even, though of course most worn at the middle of the tire's contact point. Maybe your tube is lumpy or twisted, or maybe the wheel is...

New member, looking to get into ebikes

Speaking as one who has 4000 miles on a 2019 radrover, and from a buddy who has a 2018 radwagon, the drive train is legit and a good value. One tip on buying from radpower, there's been recent reports that they're charging a tad excessive per-item shipping on parts and accessories, but not if...

    Rad Power Bikes Shipping

Maybe, maybe not. They've held the price on the kenda tires, and in this rubber tire shortage $49+20 shipping is still a competetive price for a 26x4 knobby tire. Note that other types of fatty tires with a less stiff bead ship in a small box. But yeah, $12 shipping for brake pads seems excessive.

Why do the big bike brands (almost) never use hub motors?

    > When I want the opinion of a mid-drive afficionado on the ability of hub drives to climb hills, I will write it on the toe of my Sidi's and give it to him. I live in and ride my radrover (stock motor) in one the the hilliest major cities in the country, and regularly...

Wanted trailer coupler for Rsd Rover ST

I used a Titanker over axle trailer hitch, which worked, but there is a catch. The left-side rear axle nut on the radrover is a flange nut, and it will not fit in the ringed recess of the hitch. Had to buy a standard M12 nut with 1.75 (fine) thread pitch.

Rad Rover Battery Gauge Accuracy and Behavior?

I've had a hill climb where the stock display showed 4 out 5 bars at the start of the climb, dropped to 2 bars on the way up (on PAS 3), I stopped at a supermarket 1/4 mile further, when I powered up the bike it showed 3 bars. I no longer use the stock display.

Blew a fuse on my ebike battery

That's a new one. Did you try to return it under warranty? Clearly a defective design.

Not Sure What The Four Green Lights Are For

Built-in battery leds aren't going to tell you much more than whether or not you remembered to do a full charge of yesterday's empty battery. Use your display's numbers, or better yet take a voltage reading off the battery's main terminals (be very careful not to touch the leads together--you...

Why do the big bike brands (almost) never use hub motors?

My weight on a good day is 180lb. My doctor tells me I don't seem to have very many good days. To be clear, I'm not doing south bay climbs on a radrover since I now live in SF, just I used to live there so want you to define what is not working for your radrover riding partner. Montebello road...

Why do the big bike brands (almost) never use hub motors?

Another anecdote: my first exposure to ebikes was in 2014, where when after going up the long elevator and schlepping on foot to the apartment rental in Orvieto, our kindly host asked where we'd parked and said, "Oh no, you parked on wrong level. I go down and move it." I was like, that's a huge...

Why do the big bike brands (almost) never use hub motors?

As AHicks alluded, low legal power limits (250w) do favor mid-drives, where you can convert that power to torque better by using your cogs. Note also that it's a power consumption limit, not a power output limit, which would be a Newton-meter limit. I will bet that a number of these european...

Why do the big bike brands (almost) never use hub motors?

I'm a bit astonished at this, having the same bike in SF and never having had to walk up a hill. What are these un-doable climbs? I used to live in the south bay, and grinding up black road or montebello rd or moody on a hybrid unpowered bike was a regular weekend workout. I would be happy to...

Front hub motor 250W | Torque Arm | Rear 350W hub motor

So I take it you're not a fan of these (ebikeling front torque arms (2 arms) that go around the forks), instead of one arm that depends on a single m4 or m5 bolt. Not argueing with you, just have been considering adding the front ebikelings to my rear hub drive bike because some of my descents...

Expiring Battery, or Expiring Controller, or Expiring Rider??

Ok, last suggestion and then I'll butt out. Sorry if this is very basic, but have you checked your tires' pressure when cold at outdoor temp?

Expiring Battery, or Expiring Controller, or Expiring Rider??

"Effectively both, unless you make up the difference with your legs to sustain range.", post #5 in this thread.

Expiring Battery, or Expiring Controller, or Expiring Rider??

I don't ride that bike, but do notice diminshed output on my own when I ride in low 40s temps vs the usual 55-65. Whether that diminished output would surface as a PAS wattage reduction, or instead a reduced range, would depend on that bikes' controller. Thus my question to the OP, in the recent...
