Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Yeah, it has been COLD. Then every time it warms up enough to melt some snow we get another storm lol. Rinse and repeat. First time out since December. I can usually ride all year long, but don't mess with it when the highs are in the 20s and the snow is knee deep.

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

No motor today, but just stoked to be back on the bike after what has been a brutal Winter so far Jackie's first ride of 2023

Trek apparently no longer selling to independent dealers

I never suspected I'd find used bikes at the Trek store. Hardly see them anywhere except for small or specialty shops. Bikes are never a good financial investment anyway unless they replace a car. But they're great investments in mental/physical health, overall happiness, style points (or...

Can someone explain to me e-bike maintenance

Getting off topic a bit, but I try to avoid 11/12 speed chains on ebikes. I don't find the extra gear worth the sacrifice in strength to be worth it. The bike has a motor. I can give up a cog or 2. 11/12 speed chains have to be thinner to accommodate the extra gears, and are therefore...

Can someone explain to me e-bike maintenance

The reason I don't get that crazy with chain maintenance is time. Chains are cheap. I wouldn't lube them at all if they didn't start squeaking 🤣

Can someone explain to me e-bike maintenance

I understand that some folks use degreaser, but I've never personally found the need & it's a lot more work/mess. That and your chain is going to get dirty almost right away. The only clean chain is the one that doesn't get ridden. I get what I can with a paper towel before each ride. When...

Can someone explain to me e-bike maintenance

The electrics don't have any user serviceable parts - assuming you want to keep your warranty. Otherwise just basic bike maintenance. Keep it clean, store it indoors, lube the drivetrain as needed, check and correct spoke tension periodically, tweak the rear mech when the cable stretches...

    Co-op rules against ebike

One more thing. Yeah, there are too many documented ebike battery fires. But so far it appears that the data demonstrates that these mostly occur in situations where the battery is charged or discharged outside of a set of acceptable parameters, modified, or poorly built. Convincing a set of...

    Co-op rules against ebike

I'd check with your insurance company and see if something like that is covered. If it is, just do your thing. If they mess with you, check back in with your armchair legal team here for more advice 🤪 Unless someone there just has a hard-on for you or ebikes, or you made some sort of...

    Co-op rules against ebike

I get it, but at the same time, the hypocrisy... OP, did you sign any sort of document preventing you from storing an ebike there? Or some sort of document that says they can modify the original document at will?

Best trunk rack for MIK racks

After a reasonably exhaustive search I couldn't find anything I liked with the MIK system. I wound up buying a JandD Rear Rack Pack 2 with the intention of getting a mounting plate. I may still do that, but I've been using it with the attached straps and think I may just keep using this setup...

    Best tire spoons?

Park nylon levers. If you need steel, you're doin it wrong and might just kill your rim or tire.

    Bicycle pump track

Pump tracks are a hoot. They're usually designed for bikes with smaller tires and shorter wheelbases. Maybe see if you can rent/demo/borrow a DJ bike or similar. The whoops are generally spaced too close together for mountain bikes, but not always.

Anyone else go tubeless on their allant?

Can't wait to hear what you think of them long term. 60 PSI though - that seems lofty for a tubeless setup. Also seems like it would be a harsh ride.

Best Rock Ever? Nominations, No Air Supply!

Not many accounts of that night. It was a long time ago and pre-internet, but AL still hosts a rather detailed version https://www.al.com/life-and-culture/erry-2018/08/df536d4f3e5488/that-time-prince-crashed-an-al.html

Best Rock Ever? Nominations, No Air Supply!

Told ya :) . I forget where I tripped across them, but could not believe I'd never heard them before. It was just a few years ago and I've been listening to music for a half decade. Yeah, the brokers rocked that Devo look. They synced up some dance moves too - really fun band. Prince was in...
