Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Took the Allant mountain biking for the first time. It'll do it, but lol

Dork disc... Love it or lose it?

They will eventually loosen up and get rattly. If it has a come apart, those sharp little pieces of plastic go wherever sharp little pieces of plastic go. And they look kinda dorky.

Just found a cracked rim on my allant 8

I don't disagree, but it does raise the cost. I don't think we'll see the industry fully switch to thru axle any time soon.

    Obsession with hydraulic brakes

Reliability, predictability, and power are the big ones with me. Brakes need to be consistent - at least where I live & ride. Descents can be thousands of feet on steep mountain terrain. IME good hydraulics just deliver without any drama. Modulation is good. Heat buildup is minimal...

Yeah, thru axle on an ebike should be standard.

Just found a cracked rim on my allant 8

You're right - it does. Not much info from Alex, but they do indeed call it tubeless ready. And strange you didn't get all the endcaps. Every wheelset I've ever bought came with all the adapters.

Just found a cracked rim on my allant 8

This is not a tubeless rated rim so I've been told, so running tubeless at 50 might take you outside the comfort zone. Tubed at 50 is a different animal.

How much do the lightest e-bikes weigh?

You can get down around 25 lbs, but it's gonna lighten your wallet around the range of a decent used car.

    Brakes

It's unlikely that any decent shop will work on this thing. It's a BSO (bicycle shaped object) - most likely made of the cheapest possible materials and super shady battery along with substandard assembly & setup. Can you get your money back?

Fit some lower-end Shimanos. Destroy what's left of the OEMs so they don't try to kill anyone else :)

If that's the case, then there ya go. Maybe more armor is in order?

This is only bike specific stuff - not including bike lanes in the road

This needs to be somewhere near the front of the human operator manual

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

Haha, I think I've run into this guy. Some guy up in Broomfield invited me to an impromptu boxing match one day. My offense - passing him about 15 feet away in the grass (on an analog bike). I even mentioned I was coming around. Once I passed he started yelling about how I need to announce...

    First Ebike - 2022 Trek Allant+ 7S

Lol - Starbucks to me = long lines for overpriced, mediocre products. I can't say my experience with Mikes has been any better. One of their reps did reach out, but ultimately didn't do anything for me except invite me back to the store to purchase more stuff. In the end all he did was chase...

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

Denver: 8/10 We have some of the best bike infrastructure in the country (south Denver metro), but still have a long way to go if you want to replace a car for most people. Quite a lot of bike routes around here are in the streets, and while most will give you plenty of room, there's always...

    First Ebike - 2022 Trek Allant+ 7S

So after about 1500 miles, it was time to do something with the tires. I've suffered 3 flats with these - time to go tubeless. Not only did I want to go tubeless, but I wanted something a little more efficient with lower rolling resistance. I think. Also, the G Ones feel like they're rolling...

Why Roadies Don't Smile-funny article I just read

A kindred spirit! I've also owned a DRZ & F650 Dakar - both awesome bikes! Waving always seemed like something unique to the moto world. Sometimes folks on bicycles wave. Most of the time they don't. When you pass a couple thousand a day, I guess it removes the novelty.
