well, it took me two days of trying to sort it out but i finally got it. seems that i'd been messing w/ the advanced settings and changed the number of magnets in the motor from 20 to 26. changed it back and everything's swell. operator error, as per usual. but ... thanks for your suggestions!

Need help troubleshooting no power to motor ....

(i posted this on endless sphere but so far: crickets. thought i'd try here, since ya'll have been so helpful to me in the past.) I bought this Coolrun scooter used the other day. Worked swell at the sellers, but once I got it home, no power given by the throttle. Power is supposed to kick in...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

hi, lumpy: actually, i've been doing the dog thing pretty well on that 700 series, using a leash holder called a Walky Dog, so i know i can do it, but the bike is my girlfriend's and i gotta get my own. i have a magnum but it's got some issues that i am working out but, anyway, i want something...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

thanks, all, for your input. very helpful to the cause. in the meantime, i've done a great big flip flop and actually hit the buy button on a cheapo $899 lectric xp step thru. sure, it typically seems to arrive w/ a bunch of QC issues but once those get straightened out, lots of folks express...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Lumpy: I'm thinking about getting this bike but had a few questions that may or may not have been answered earlier or elsewhere ... -- Does it start up in PAS level 0 or 1? -- If i wanted to ride throttle only, is it a smooth, easy, steady rise to 5 or 6 mph? -- How stable is the bike at those...

Power pulses from start with throttle only

I have a Magnum Low Rider that when I ramp up to speed, say to 6 or 7 mph, it constantly pulses. It does this only when using the throttle. If I'm peddling, it's a pretty smooth rise. But peddling leads to too fast a start for me, so I'm feathering the throttle up but it sure makes for an...

    What determines low-speed ramp-up smoothness?

Meanwhile, I went out and took videos of the Magnum and the Ride1UP 700 in action. You can hear the difference. To me, it's pretty dramatic. the Ride1Up series 700: the Magnum Low Rider:

    What determines low-speed ramp-up smoothness?

i didn't notice that the 500 has 2.2 tires. do you have a sense of what 2.2 vs 2.4 might do in terms of stability, which is one of my main concerns? my other main concern, ha ha, is that if i wait to order the 500, it might go from late august delivery to lord knows when i now see the 700...

    What determines low-speed ramp-up smoothness?

AH: yeah, that looks like a pretty far reach for me, given the faintness of my heart, among other things. wouldn't mind selling the magnum -- thu i do love the stability of its foot-forward design, which the ride1up doesn't offer. genxR: one of the great things about the ride1up, as i'm sure...

    What determines low-speed ramp-up smoothness?

well, i micro soldered my own quadcopters together before dji was dji but that's also before my hands developed the shakes, so ... not so handy no more. maybe i'll just ditch the magnum and get another ride1up. since the M cost a bunch more than the R, i might be able to do an even swap, money...

    What determines low-speed ramp-up smoothness?

okay but again -- what impact does the cadence sensor have when you're just using the throttle? or are we now just talking about the motor controller?

    What determines low-speed ramp-up smoothness?

well, this is certainly interesting. guess my dealer is a bit clueless. wonder if i can somehow rescue my magnum. magnum itself referred me to my dealer, but if he can't help, i wonder what i can do. crumb. guess i might get another ride1up and not worry that the new versions have a newton...

    What determines low-speed ramp-up smoothness?

hi, court: i'm teaching my dog how to walk next to me and my magnum low rider, using throttle only, is super herky jerky going up to 5 or 6 mph, prime walking speed, whereas my girl's ride1up 700 is super smooth. i called my magnum dealer who told me something like my bike's gearing and motor...

    jerky throttle issue ...

just talked to the dealer who said the gearing on the motor is set to be very torquey so that at low speeds it's going be jerky like i've been experiencing it. sigh.

    jerky throttle issue ...

I just went through all the pas levels and all the speed options available in the hidden settings menu and nothing makes a difference. herky jerky until i get to 5 or 6 mph. not good at all. i'm going to call the dealer and see what he says. if it can't be 'fixed,' i'll probably wind up...

    jerky throttle issue ...

i'm teaching my dog to ride next to me on my magnum lowrider. i'm using throttle only to start off with but it's very jerky at low speeds and freaks my dog out. my ideal speed is around 4 mph. my girlfriend has a much less expensive ride1up 700 series ebike and it's smooth as silk from the...

Plasti dip / painting your frame

i love plasti dip. used it to change the color of my surfboard. stayed stuck down like a champ. and then when i got tired of the color, i just peeled it off and started afresh. bingo bango easy. guess trainman has had a different experience, so, obviously, ymmv.
