Welcome to the forum and to Saratoga. Lots of places to ride near you. Saratoga Springs State Park, Saratoga National Park, Ballston Lake Trail, Zim Smith Trail, Mohawk River Canal Trail. Do an internet search for starting and ending points.

My front hub drive climbs hills very well on hard surfaces, but on dirt or gravel it’s a different story because there is a lot of tire slippage.

We have ridden to the Adk. General Store for lunch several times. It’s about 22 miles round trip from the house with a nice hour-long lunch break.

This morning’s ride, 12.8 miles, mostly uphill, then down a long way using brakes. The mill pond in the hamlet of Brant Lake. Last picture, Burnt Pond, a private community in the mountains in the middle of nowhere.

Here are a couple pictures from today’s ride on Brant Lake. I rode up to the other end and back on the same road, which is actually slightly longer than going around. From the north end looking south, and midway up the lake.

I rode around Brant Lake in the Adirondacks today, as I have many times. It is about 13 miles. The sky looked pretty menacing during most of the ride, and at about the 12 mile mark it started raining. I sped up and outran most of it for the last mile.

That's funny, Dave. I spent 27 years working in all kinds of weather, as did you. Now, I want nothing to do with riding in rain. I don't even fish in the rain. 😀

It might be worth a call to Currie/Raleigh/iZip. Maybe there’s a free fix if enough of those motors went bad. 🤔

My wife's 2016 iZip E3 Vibe had similar TransX motor problems. Currie replaced the motor under warranty in 2017 with an updated one. I don't know what the mechanical problem was but I had read that it was common.

This is the stock battery. In the picture, the lug on the far right is positive and the larger far left lug is negative.

I think the top tube provides added strength and rigidity to the frame. Some step-thrus have a mid-tube.
