Dry built field stone walls are a standard feature of most of our rides. This one in Woodstock Valley is an example. There is also an impressive one across the field.

    2019–2020 R&M Homage : Riders' Impressions

I wondered why there were no recent photos with the Homage. I’m very interested in that bike. Seems ideal for the riding I like to do and would open up new trails and roads that are too rough for my current bike. Thank you for your review of it. I look forward to your comments on the Kiox.

Learning to ride an ebike: How ebiking skills are different from general cycling skills, and how they develop

I have a hub drive. I’ve learned to always have a brake lever at least partially compressed when stopped so the motor is off. When I get off the bike I change the power setting to “0” or no assist. The bike taught me this behavior after trying to take off several times when I wasn’t expecting it.

    Riese & Muller Tinker

My sister rides a Tinker and loves it. She has had it for 2 years and is planning on riding it for the opening day of Ride the Rockies which is open to ebikes for the first time this year. Her enthusiasm for the Tinker is what got me interested in ebikes. She does use 2 batteries for rides in...

    New Yamaha Gravel Bike

I found the discussion of body position while riding fascinating. I did a little googling and found this research report which might help explain the widely varying opinions. https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/37/5/441

I followed the directions in the video link above and it worked like a charm. As Mike had surmised my bike was set to the highest power mode. I did short test rides in the “normal” and “eco” settings. It made a noticeable difference in the surge when starting up. Today I hope to do a longer ride...

It took me at least a month to figure out how to ride this bike comfortably. One key is to use a light touch on a brake levers to temporarily cut the motor while still pedaling. I use this all the time when approaching intersections. It has become automatic whenever I am going to do a slow speed...
