    Ebike Chain Lubes

Kluber is high quality stuff. BRP (ski doo) uses its isoflex grease for its sealed crankshaft bearings in snowmobiles. I use it in a planetary gearbox the size of a 50 cent piece for an 8 HP RC airplane

    Ebike Chain Lubes

They come in a similar fashion to our ebike chains, coated in cosmoline or something similar. I'm told the ONLY reason to lube an o-ring chain is to prevent rust but I lube mine anyway. It would be GREAT if our ebike chains had o-rings to seal in the factory grease but I'm afraid that would make...

    Ebike Chain Lubes

Some motorcyclists use no lube at all but most motorcycle chains have sealed o-rings that keep the factory grease in place. Their reasoning is that lubing a chain that already has sealed lube will only attract dirt and grime, shortening the service life of the chain. I just can't see running a...

    Ebike Chain Lubes

I always carry a small bag of sand and throw it into the cassette of rude lycra roadies I meet on the bike paths. They usually just laugh and realize it's all in good fun

    Ebike Chain Lubes

    I think WD-40 sprayed on bi-annually is all that's really needed :)

    Ebike Chain Lubes

Yep, some dirt sticks to the wax but maybe 10% of what sticks if using a traditional wet lube

    Ebike Chain Lubes

No reviews of the Maxima chain wax which is a bummer because I swear by the stuff. With this you can wax your chain w/o removing it and it doesn't attract dirt. I use the motorcycle forumla but see they also have a bicycle specific product as well...

    E-Bike hatred is out there!

Funny you mention kayakers. I've been a whitewater kayaker and raft guide for many years and kayakers in general REALLY snub whitewater rafters. It's "cheating" to go downriver in a huge, stable inflatable raft. LOL

    Ebike Chain Lubes

I'm happy with 2,000mi. on a mid drive ebike for chain life and that was just to .5, I could have probably gone another 1,000mi. I rarely degrease, the waxy coating from the maxima chain wax attracts far less dirt than oil. I think my brake pads will go another 1,000mi. but that's a different...

    Ebike Chain Lubes

I use Maxima Chain Wax in an aerosol can. It's made for motorcycle chains, goes on wet and then dries quickly to a parrafin like surface. It's quite thick. I just changed the OEM chain on my 10 speed Haibike trekking 6.0 that has Yamaha PW motor. My chain stretch tool showed .5 after 2100mi. and...

    E-Bike hatred is out there!

I try to avoid political posts, especially when someone says "wake up" at the end of their rant as if anyone who doesn't agree with the rant is misinformed/uninformed or stupid. Sad

    New Chain Woes

I bought the park tools chain wear tool as I didn't trust the cheap tool I had that only measured for .75% and 1.0%.. After 2,000mi. (haibike trekking 6.0, yamaha PW, 10 speed cassette) I'm not even at .5% yet. I do clean and lube the chain every 100mi. (or sooner if it gets wet or I ride dirt...

Sparks flying: are my battery or charger damaged? Please help

If the battery indeed got shorted, yes... I'd want a new battery although I've had momentary lipo shorts with RC packs with no damage, or no damage that I was able to see, or measure in capacity or internal resistance

I just ordered that park tools chain measuring tool.. Mine is a cheap one that only does .75% and 1.0%.. Kind of expensive at 15 bucks but cheaper than a new cassette
