Need help in choosing bike for daughter

One thought off the top of my head is that if she has a bike she likes, it could be adapted using a Bionx kit. They are well rated and could meet your financial criterion. I have not ridden this myself but know someone who loves it. Check out Court's reviews if you like. I am thinking of...

Need help in choosing bike for daughter

Do you mind if I ask some other questions? Please don't feel like you need to answer them. These are things I would consider if I were in your place. Does your daughter like to ride a bike? Does she like the idea of an electric bike? What is the upper limit of what you want to spend? Will...

Easy Motion vs Bosch Second Generation Drive Systems

I commute to work on my Evo Jet. I am lucky enough to be able to park my bike in my office where I charge it. I do get looks and comments when I bring the bike on the elevator. I used to ride a traditional bike and carry it up to the 2nd floor. I bought the Jet for the exact reason you...

Body Float Suspension Seat Post Thoughts

Sorry the background was not prettier. I stopped in front of some houses I was riding by and snapped the picture.

Easy Motion vs Bosch Second Generation Drive Systems

Thank you for this excellent comparison. You've given me a lot to think about. I want to make a few additional comments. Your comparison is using the Neo BH line. I have an Evo Jet. You can charge the battery while it is on the bike. Also, I think BH has improved the Eco mode. This is...

    Sitting on a Dead Cow

I love the Brooks Cambrium saddle. The saddle is comfortable IF I am resting on my is ischial tuberosites. Since the seat is made of rubber, rain is no issue (compared to leather). I have also found this saddle to be great for non-ebikes. This saddle in combination with a body float =...

Bontrager Backrack Deluxe S Rear Rack on IZIP E3 Dash

I use the Topeak Explorer rack on my Evo Jet. I really like it because the Topeak Trunkbag compatible with the rack mounts in a track, hooks on to the front of the rack and has panniers and storage on top of the rack. It is very secure and spacious. I commute to work and love the organization...

Skid Lid - Brain Bucket - Cranium Catcher - Crash Cup

I find riding on the bike path that goes along the ocean in Los Angeles/Santa Monica to be dangerous, mainly due to pedestrians and roller skaters who can change course unpredictably and don't tend to look behind them for passing traffic. My last accident occurred when a skater (wearing...

Also, I have a Brooks Cambrium saddle I use with my Body Float - I like the combo.

Body Float Suspension Seat Post Thoughts

I have a Body Float on my Evo Jet and I love it. The bike is much more comfortable to ride. For whatever reason (I don't understand), the bike also handles better - I take turns with more confidence. I carried the allen wrench with me and made adjustments on the road (when I was stopped)...

    Evo Race vs. Evo Cross

Mike, I like the Jet a lot so I think you may enjoy the Cross. It is peppy and well balanced. I put a Body Float suspension seat post on my bike, which may the bike more comfortable and gave it a more responsive feel. The bike is pretty stiff so the suspension helps. I hope you love the bike!

    Evo Race vs. Evo Cross

I have Evo Jet. You probably know that that is a step through version of the Cross. I can get a good workout if I choose on the spike by using a lower total assist mode or by increasing my cadence. I think you will get a good workout with the Cross. I have not ridden the Race.

    Looking for great bike shops

My bike store is Bike Attack, in Santa Monica. They have a store just for electric bikes. If you contact them, please tell them Andy with the Bianchi with the Rohloff referred you. I would love to try your bike. I have an Evo Jet but was thinking about your bike for my wife.

    Regenerative braking

Thanks for the response. That is what I have read as well but the bike manual mentioned regenerative breaking.

    Regenerative braking

Does anyone have info about regenerative braking on the Evo bikes?

East Motion Evo - how far will it take me for my commute?

I rode 13 miles on my Evo Jet, mostly on Eco mode; I averaged around 15 to 18 miles per hour. I think I was down 1 bar (60 to 80% range). I wonder if the low speed over a long time resulted in the battery drain? I have the impression that there is not a linear relationship between top speed...

East Motion Evo - how far will it take me for my commute?

I was thinking that if I had a 30 mile commute that I would consider a pedelec (right term?) that can go 28 mph. This could include the Stromer ST2 or the Dash by IZIP - the latter rated well on this website and is in the same price range as the Easy Motion bikes. I would also consider a...

East Motion Evo - how far will it take me for my commute?

I have an Evo Jet that I bought at Bike Attack and I think you can make your 30 mile commute if you can charge your bike at work. I am finding there are many ways to ride an ebike and some of those result in better mileage (e.g., coasting to stops well ahead of when I would coast on a regular...
