Easy Motion Street: System Power Cuts Out

Easy Motion should replace the bike - it is a lemon. Or the bike shop doesn't have the skill to fix the bike. This should not be your headache. I had intermittent power loss that appeared to be related to the torque sensor.

New EBR Review - e-Rad/Bafang (Lectric Cycles)

Chris, I have a Bianchi Metropoli with a Rohloff Speedhub. I am thinking about converting this to an ebike. Can the 500 or 750 watt systems be programmed to go 28 mph with pedal assist and 20 mph with throttle? Thanks, Andy

Evo Street Top Speed in pedal assist mode

I would categorize myself as a moderately pedaler. The terrain on the ride was usually a mild grade up or down and some flat. I chose gears that allowed for a cadence of around 60 to 80 revolutions per minute. If I found myself pushing with some effort to turn the cranks, I lowered the gears...

Evo Street Top Speed in pedal assist mode

I agree with you about riding unpowered. This weekend, I went for a 20 mile ride on my Evo Jet and only used one bar on the battery. I was in Eco mode and likely was not engaging the motor for a good chunk of the ride. I estimate my average speed was around 14 mph. I think I was pedaling too...

Evo Street Top Speed in pedal assist mode

If you can charge your battery at work, 16 miles will not be a problem in the higher pedal assist modes.

Body Float Suspension Seat Post Thoughts

I have been using one for several months and am happy with the Body Float - more comfortable ride; better handling - I don't regret spending the money

Manuals are worse than I thought

    Regenerative braking

I spoke to the Easy Motion rep and asked about this. The manual is written to cover all possible e-bikes, including those with gearless motors - hence, the regenerative braking icon on the control pad and the inclusion in the manual. I think they should invest more effort in the manuals - one...

Another Evo Cross arrival - purchase and 1st ride impressions

Thanks for the great write-up on your initial Evo experience. I agree with you about the manual. I have had some similar torque sensor experiences.

    New Evo Cross owner

Harry, I really hope you enjoy your new bike. I have the jet version which is very similar to yours. After making a few minor upgrades, I can't imagine having a better bike for the type of commuting I do, especially for the price point.

    New tires

Dear all, I just had Marathon Plus (700 X 38) tires put on my Evo Jet. The difference is immense. The bike ride is so much more smooth and comfortable - better shock absorption. The bike handles very well in the turns. Together with the Easy Float suspension seat post, the bike rides like...

    Helmet question

This is a very interesting discussion. I looked at the web pages and TED video. They seem to be more opinion than data driven. The assertion that bike use declines when helmets are recommended or required is correlation but that does not prove causation. Here is another link that may be...

    Helmet question

There are lots of ways to fall on your head that don't involve a fatal car vs. bike collision, I have been commuting to school and work since the 70's and my helmet saved me on 2 occasions. I hope everyone knows that helmets should be inspected by the mfc after an accident as they may be...

    Helmet question

Thanks. I looked at Consumer Reports and their top rated helmet is the Scott Arx. Scott uses a technology that reduces rotational force to the brain. I work in a hospital and see how head taumas change lives forever. I love riding bikes but would like to hedge my bets as much as is...

    Helmet question

Dear all, Since e-bikes travel at greater speeds than those attained with non-motorized bicyles, I wonder if regular bike helmets offer sufficient protection. The following website gave this summary: http://www.bhsi.org/powered.htm "If you use a bicycle helmet for a powered vehicle...
