    The ebike's cousin... electric skateboards

Time to put the board away for the winter. Did about 400 km on it this year. The last ride home (time lapse)

    Camera Options (Which is Best?)

I use the VIRB handlebar mounted in timelapse mode pretty regularly. Makes for an entertaining record of a ride. For 'dashcam' work though, I prefer my old Contour helmet mounted. Smaller, lighter, and much easier to mount on the side of a helmet.

    A 'Thank You' to Court...

I echo that! Though I've had an electric longboard for a few years and knew the battery and motor tech was there, this site was a great introduction to the complex world of e-bikes, which I have thoroughly enjoyed this year. On the subject of e-biking, the hard core cyclists who have tried my...

Stuff needed for Winter commuting with Fat bike

Anyone with experience with heated gloves?

First EBike - Felt or Optibike or Something Else?

I've had the Biktrix fatbike for the summer on a 10km commute and it has been excellent, I'd fully expect the Stunner to be as good. Met the man behind Biktrix in person and he seems very keen.

    The winter is coming ...

I've had good luck winter proofing my bikes with Tri-flo. Keep pivots, and chains oily and they look ugly but don't rust or corrode...

Stuff needed for Winter commuting with Fat bike

Yeah, there was some good tips here. I also bought a pair of the mentioned Columbia Bugaboot II (on sale, as they are last years model now) and they do seem warm as hell, plus light and all around useful. Already had them fitted into snowshoes, looks like they'll work well there too.

Stuff needed for Winter commuting with Fat bike

Good to know! I tried using my ski gloves, but didn't like the clumsy feeling. As recommended previously I've been trying out a pair of these: 14.00 when I bought them from Amazon.ca. Have been working well at around zero C with a light glove. Tried throwing some hand warmers in the bottom...

Photos of Nice Views Your Juggernaut Shown You

Yeah, it oddly almost seems to go faster. The fork and the seat suspension get a workout in some places. Huge fun. I can slow it down some, but it's a 'stop motion' video, so not totally. It's about a half hour run.

A few views on the way home today: Way better than driving the car!

    Thread deleted.

Very helpful. Will remember that for the winters cycling. And to move my power tool batteries into the basement!

New to e-bike, will it help in an inclined road?

Explains why the Bafang 750 feels so effortless climbing, it's something like 1200w peak output. The new 1000w version must be a monster.

New to e-bike, will it help in an inclined road?

I find my assist makes a huge difference going up hills, feels like superman through the pedal assist. The bike will go about 30 km with a big hill in the middle, 10.4 amp hour battery. That's a fat tired bike with 750w mid drive. All depends on your particular motor/wheel setup/how much...

Burn the motor while pedalling too hard?

With the mid mount Bafang motor I have, apparently what heats it up is the problem is not enough pedaling. Slowing rpm and increasing load heats up the motor . Apparently an aquarium thermometer can be used to keep an eye on temps...

What kind of tail-light do you use?

Thanks! Looks like that might work. Ordered.

What kind of tail-light do you use?

What I was looking for is a wide rear light as it would have to be mounted low to be below my jacket and show on either side of my fender (no rear rack). Does any exist? All I could find that might work was the Thunderbolt and that looks like it will not mount crosswise to a seatpost.

What kind of tail-light do you use?

Looked at one of those in the store yesterday. Turned it on and 'Ouch!' as it blazed away at me, then tried to shut it off as it seared my retinas with its blinding light. Unfortunately the off button is facing the lens, and there are two buttons, with 7 or so different flash patterns possible...

    It's Almost Heated Hoodie Time

I've got a non-hoodie heated Milwaukee jacket, and it was useful cycling in the winter to work as it took the edge off that bitter time between heading out and cycling hard enough to warm up.

    First e-bike commuter; some trails

A bit heavy for packing up stairs, but doable. He sold a bunch to parks for doing pretty much what you describe.

    First e-bike commuter; some trails

A mid drive fatty would do you, I think. A Juggernaut with the big battery would be way under the prices you are looking at, and those big tires are magic on gravel.
