    Amazon vs dealer

I got my Bafang mid-drive kit from ebike essentials. They stock in the US and tell you upfront if it’s out of stock. I had mine in 5 days and this was during Covid. Those Amazon dealers may be in China. They like to lie about being in the US just like most of the Chinese products available...

2 ebikes for sale in Charleston WV

Bike #1. Ecotric Hammer $1000 This bike is too big for me. I only rode about 200 miles so it looks new because it (almost) is. It comes in one size only so you need to be over 5' 9". It's the UL version with the 750 watt motor which gives it lots of power with good range. The top speed under...

SRAM 12 speed GX skipping in the 2 highest gears (smallest sprockets)

Same thing happened to me. I discovered my chains wear out in 1000 miles or less. It's real steep around here. But chains are cheap. I got mine for $17 from Bezos.

In depth article by Bicycling Mag on the lawsuit against Rad regarding a girls death

It is a pretty long story but actually a good read. https://www.bicycling.com/culture/a42690937/molly-steinsapir-lawsuit-rad-power-electric-bike/?utm_source=pocket-newtab

    Gonna Happen This Spring

And I'd like to add that all of these components are already here in the US. I purchased my kit at eBike Essentials. They are straight shooters. If they are out of something the website tells you before you are even thinking about ordering. You can put together your own package, this motor with...

    Gonna Happen This Spring

I'd just convert that Trek 6000 you have. Hub drives are so simple to install and it will be lighter than many factory built ebikes. And way less than $4000 like $3000 less. There's no wire stripping or soldering, all the plugs are unique so that this plug only fits that plug. I converted my...

    Finally, I Ride Again

I remember that one. Hey Kayakguy, I used to yak quite a bit, I'll be moving back to Poulsbo/Silverdale area in May. That's in Washington State for the rest of you. We should get together.

    Range experience?

I was playing around with my bike when it was new. At full power it would do about 20 miles. It's so fast (36 mph) that it is useless pedaling so it's almost all just the motor.

    Finally, I Ride Again

Thanx, but I do live with a doc and he says they usually only prescribe that for people who have it bad. Did you have it bad? I'm hangin in there and might get some takeout thai tonight.👍

    Finally, I Ride Again

So that crud came back. Before that though I did get 2 more rides in while it was nice weather and visited my fav wing place by car. I was feeling groovy. Then I got less groovy. Did my at home Covid test today and that came back POSITIVE. I had checked several times before including in December...

    Camping, Glamping, Bikamping

I built a custom aluminum cabover camper. I made an extra wide door so the bike would fit inside. This required raising the kitchen counter so the bike would fit underneath. My bike wasn't electrified then but it is now. i cruise all over the PNW for 2 summers. Good times.

    Finally, I Ride Again

I had a crappy December. I caught that crud that "just keeps me hangin on". Plus either it was too cold or wet or both so not much riding lately. But today it's 62 and sunny so I took my regular spin around the hood. It was only 10 miles but it was fun. There are some south facing hills on the...

Bafang BBS 02 750w strange problem - No Power?

I have the Whale Shark battery. FWIW the indicators do light up when the battery is installed on the bike. I had a similar "dead" problem. I had expertly installed the wires so that the one going to the display was pinched by the motor as it ran under the bottom bracket. I expertly re-installed...

Broke my chain into two pieces? WTF

I have a shift sensor. They say it saves the chain and gears. I disconnected the plug once just to see and there was lots of complaining down there. :(

    52 volt battery

I have a 17.6 AH 52V battery. I experimented in the early days and could do maybe 20 miles at full power. Once it did poop out a block from home. On the other hand I did 74.8 mile on PAS 3 (out of 9) with constant pedaling. My Bike did die a half mile from the house but I have 2 really steep...

Fat man bike; long time rider, but not ebikes

I did 1801 miles in a little over a year and the BBSHD is still doing great. Did a little ride yesterday which was kinda cool because there was very little traffic.

Fat man bike; long time rider, but not ebikes

Do they still make the BBSO1 and 2 motors? I have seen posts here by members that have the 52 tooth so is that not as big of a problem with the BBSHD motors? I'll never go that way, if anything I'll put in a smaller sprocket, I'm just curious.

Fat man bike; long time rider, but not ebikes

Is the BBSHD the newer motor then? I hear what you say about high speeds cause mine will do 36 mph. I did have my brakes checked recently and they have held up which was surprising. I've smelled them occasionally.
