    Question about Bike Radios

This was what I've been doing too, until had lost interest in endlessly repeating news and music of not my choice :). Simple, comfortable. Rather than a 4-5W handlebar speaker loud enough to use on a motorcycle (yes, it can be that loud).

    Replacement controller options?

Thanks. If you decide to make throttle work full power on any PAS , try setting P3 to 1. .

    Question about Bike Radios

The cheapest and the lightest radio will be the one included for free with your Android phone :). FM only, no data required. You'll have to plug the earbuds even if you listen to the speaker, they act as antenna. Phone speaker is terrible for music but fine for news. Decent quality pocket radio...

    Replacement controller options?

Wonderful. Did it help with PAS issue that people were complaining about - giving same full power at different PAS levels, only with different cut-off speed? I remember a while ago C14 setting was used to adjust the power of PAS, but there were only 2 settings: 1 - less power and 2 - more...

Lectric XP Lite first impressions (I'll update this after I ride)

I've been thinking about this toy, and by looking at how top tube lowers below the top of 20" wheel - I would say about 22" where halves of the tube join each other. This is "a little" more than a typical 17-18" step through. Hopefully somebody will measure and report. What guys were talking...

Aventon FINALLY adding throttle on demand

I thought both bikes had same 2.2" tire width. Not being able to adjust PAS on Aventon is discouraging, given the abundance of Chinese displays and controllers with this feature.

Suggest me ebike which has the longest range under 1500$CAD

How "long"? There is Aventon Pace, $US 1099, that would be about CAD 1500, range up to 75 km on one charge if you are not in a hurry, click on the Real World Test: https://www.aventon.com/products/aventon-pace-350-step-through-e-bike#real_world_test. Shorter range if you go faster. It is...

    My Bike is Back!!!

Yep. Rainy is better than icy. It was icy on this "wet coast" too, a few days ago in the late evening, so far only one day.

    New EBike

I think they are well built and very reasonably priced. They are also heavy, most of them. And they are online-only. Aventon (probably) have dealers in Toronto, and Amego is a dealer by itself. In terms of tushy comfort, 26" wheel with 2.3" tire will roll the same, whether you pay CAD 1,500...

    New EBike

Recommendations have been coming every day since the beginning of the tread :). As I already wrote, Aventon, Ride1up and RAD City are reasonably priced and are worth considering. And so is Amego.

    New EBike

    No.

    New EBike

Most anything will be better than this one. Aventon Pace 500 ~1,700 CAD, no lights or rack. Ride1Up roughly the same. RAD City ~2,000 CAD with lights and all. A bit heavy. Amego Infinite is a "shop brand" but looks good for the price and besides, they are in your area and are not an online...

an electric bike for the lake

The only value here is probably in the eye of beholder - for people who want to pedal on water in a bike-like fashion. Hobie pedal kayaks, albeit non electrical, are MUCH more user-friendly. Stable, easier to start, no problems with balance when stopping, you're sitting in semi-recumbent...

Driven Bikes - anyone heard of them?

A US-based middleman btw Chinese bike and US consumers usually means that you'll have some support. Directly from China support is non-existing, at best you'll get an exchange or refund for DOD parts. Not that I'm a big fan of the former business model.

    Leichten cargo ebike

The considerations like "Why the hell not" likely came at the very beginning of the design process. Probing the market, to see if it sells. It's hard to imagine somebody doing the frame design without thinking of the battery placement.

    Leichten cargo ebike

I guess they are betting on the esthetic appeal of hidden battery. There could be a market segment with such a need. IMO, a misguided need in the case of a workhorse bike like this one. And it comes at the expense of functionality - can't bring battery inside for charging, can't use one of...

    Leichten cargo ebike

Small and not (easily) removable battery... 350 W motor.... Nah. Love the company building - typical in China, even in the capital. Top floor for execs - some mini-split A/C units here and there. Bottom three floors - for bottom-paid folks, no AC, no soup for you, open the windows if you...

Will you let your ebike take you 'where you don't belong' ???

Ah, "financially adventurous" :). Debating whether this is "really living" or not, is probably beyond the scope of this thread. Besides, you were not doing crazy things, you did your research before starting this. A calculated risk. Still risk, yes.

Hidden battery in the DownTube replacements hard to find?

Would've been nice for us users, yes. Big brands would've lost some market share, though.
