Lost a light level on my Dash Battery

I thought these were rated at like 500? 300 is nuts, that's not even a year before having to replace a $400 - $600 battery pack. It seems like most of the ones I've been seeing are rated for at least a 1000 cycles which would be closer to three years and a bit more like it.

    When there's no dealer...

In my area, all of the local bike shops and big retailers currently have their ebikes on clearance for 50% off or more. REI has theirs for about 50% off because they supposedly cannot move them, so you may want to look around your area. I've got an iZip Zuma on lay away at my local bike shop...

    Cargo bike trunk bag?

I would look at just re-purposing some motorcycle luggage for it. If you buy off brand you can usually find reasonable prices and most of it is waterproof as well. I usually buy all of my motorcycle stuff used and if you shop around, you can get stuff really cheap.

Failed CF Campaigns & Cheap Batteries

My understanding was that, at least originally, only the early adopters were going to get them for that price anyway and once he was established, they were going to go up to something like $1300. To me, they look like every other fatty bike out there, he just has the plastic triangle box hiding...

Winter or cold weather battery storage

Do they not make trickle charging systems for these? That's what I always used on my motorcycle batteries. It keeps just enough juice going to the battery to keep it topped off so that it doesn't go flat.

How struggling can it be to lift a 60lbs eBike to the 3rd floor?

Depending on the bike and how much effort you want to put in, I'd say take the battery pack out as that should save you around 6-10 pounds or so depending on the type of battery. It will cause two trips, but still. Hook up a hoist system from the balcony? ;)

Failed CF Campaigns & Cheap Batteries

I agree - once you get your crowd funded business off the ground, it's time to make it into a real business. Although I can see the appeal in doing what he's doing to keep costs down, but still. I ended up picking up an iZip Zuma the other day. They were marked down to $1499 and they gave me...

    Self filling water bottle

That is pretty cool. Imagine a large scale version to address the clean water issue.

Failed CF Campaigns & Cheap Batteries

I haven't heard of anyone who ordered one who did not receive it (although I have heard of people getting the wrong color), but I cannot disagree with what you're saying. Some of the reasons you mention are reasons why I am a bit weary of the company and why I've been reading up on it. I can...

Failed CF Campaigns & Cheap Batteries

I hope so - I think the biggest reason why these are not taking off more is because they are too cost prohibitive for most people.

They're good - that is where I am planning on getting my Zuma

Battery Lock Bolt for IZIP Zuma and Metro

I know it's a year later, but how much was this?

Failed CF Campaigns & Cheap Batteries

I'm probably going to go with an iZip - got some really good deals going in my area right now (more than 50% off) and Currie seems to have significantly better support and what not ;)

    Aftermarket battery

I think the long term solution, assuming OEM packs are not available, is going to be just to replace the cells in the existing packs (significantly cheaper as well). I'm still curious though.

    Aftermarket battery

I'm looking at these bikes and have read about the concerns regarding batteries. I know some of the other bikes I have looked at, people have simply replaced their OEM packs with another brand (like the ones they sell at Lunacycles, etc.). Has anyone already done this with a Dash and if so...

Thanks, I was looking at checking that shop out - I may pass on it now.

E3 Dash Battery No Longer Holding Optimal Charge

I have to wonder about this as well. The laptop I am typing this on is over three years old, is used daily, and according to on board diagnostic software, I'm still at around 63% of original capacity (which isn't bad given how much I use it). My Samsung phone in my pocket is also a bit over...

The "fatty" one is the one I keep pointed towards. There are two for sale locally, but they both want nearly double what they cost new and I'm not doing that ;)

Fat Tire Beach Cruisers - Same Bikes with Different Names?

The bike the OP is talking about, if it is the one I think it is, are made or marketed under the name of Xtreme Bikes. There are tons of places that sell them, but I can't really find any rock solid reviews on any of them (with the exception of the handful of reviews on the seller's sites that...

Failed CF Campaigns & Cheap Batteries

I'm relatively new to this and have been reading up on ebikes like crazy the last week or so. Many people have pointed me towards Sondors because of the price point. I'm financially challenged and when I can order a Sondors for $700 (base bike with shipping) compared to a $3000 bike collecting...
