mid drives are not for everyone/throttles are fine

I agree with you. I am a long-time cyclist but over 65 with health issues. I have both a hub bike with pedal sensor and a Como with torque sensor And mid drive. The hub bike with pedal sensor and throttle is easier to ride. The difference is subtle, but the hub bike gives you a little push. I...

Electric bike sales have skyrocketed during the coronavirus lockdown

This is consistent with what I am seeing. I live in an LA suburb and the streets are full of bike riders and walkers. Lots of the bikes are electric. My local bike shop is stuffed floor to ceiling with bike boxes from newly ordered bikes and lots of them are electric. We may have nearly half the...

The Best Electric Bikes for Small People

I am 5’3.5”. I bought an ebike last July (not my first but my first of the current generation). The bike I bought was a Veego Semi-fat. A folding low step design. I have done a lot of riding in my life and I can do a lot of my own maintenance and repairs but don’t always want to. Between Veego...

The ultimate pedal and shoes discussion

For many years I rode clipped in. For many years I swore by Shimano SPDs. No more. I love the new style MTB platform pedals. The Stamp 1 is great. My feet stay in place, and I can wear street shoes.

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

FWIW I have a Como. The position is far from an extreme cruiser position. It is fairly upright but not that much. I am still leaning forward. I ride the bike 10 miles a day and I’m sure I could ride it much further with little discomfort. The more upright position puts more weight on the seat. I...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Motor working fine on my Como but 2 flat rear tires in the first 150 miles. My wonderful drug dealer neighbor has been sprinkling small pieces of glass on the street. My bike now has mr tuffy strips and green slime in the tires.

Is the frame type (diamond, step-trough) still relevant for stability

I ride a low step Specialized Como. The ride is extremely solid. No flex.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Thanks. A good slap did the job. Also. My Thudbuster is now installed. A hole drilled through the seat post and the light is also still working.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

The battery in my Como is not locking in. It seems to snap into place but it pops right out witout the key. It almost fell out while I was riding.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I added a rack. I can easily mount a light at the end of the rack.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Is there any reason I can’t cut the light off the bike and terminate the wire ends?

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I tried starting a thread about this but got no response. Those of you who have installed a suspension seatpost, like a thudbuster. How do you get the light and cable out of the existing seatpost and how do you move the wires to move the light when you can’t put it through the seatpost?

    Thudbuster and Como Installation

I got a Thudbuster ST for my Como. I see the wire for the light runs through the old seatpost. I can remove the light from the seat but can’t figure out how to get it out of the original seatpost. Then I don’t see what do do with it once I install the thudbuster post. Any suggestions

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

The Como fenders are light plastic. The front fender does seem to rattle a bit if I focus on it.

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

I am someone who always makes modifications to any bike so there is nothing wrong with that. But if you are buying the Vado with plans to put on a significant stem riser would you not be better off with a Como that puts you in that sitting position and is designed all round for that. Ultimately...

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

I debated and got the Como. I was afraid I’d find the Vado too uncomfortable. Because the bike is fairly upright there is not much weight on the front wheel so I prefer the rigid fork for lighter weight and simplicity. However I am adding a Thudbuster ST seatpost because bumps on the road are...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Has anyone removed the fenders from their Como? I’ve never much like fenders; I live in Los Angeles so it rarely rains. I think the fenders rattle a little and they look clunky.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Thanks. Sometimes I miss the obvious. Measured the post with a caliper and it is indeed 30.9. Glad I checked here before ordering.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I’m thinking of getting the thudbuster st seatpost. Looks like the size is 27.2. Is there a reason to get the newest 4th generation over the third generation?
