How to make Vado feel more like a Como?

I have been riding my Como up a mountain pass near my house and also regularly riding a Long grade of 3-4% that goes for several miles. I get a workout but have yet to go into my lowest gear and have been riding turbo mode 60/60. The bike has plenty more to give but I havent needed it. i love...

How to make Vado feel more like a Como?

A brief correction. The Como is not a crank forward, not even a little. I have a Rans Dynamik and I have owned an Electra Townie; I have a Como. The Como has a pretty conventional comfort bike geometry. I can just barely reach the ground tiptoe from the seat. On a crankforward bike I can easily...

Passed by a Black Lives Matter demonstration this morning in the San Fernando Valley. Almost everyone was white. Note the Armenians for black lives poster. It was kind of a big party. Lots of dogs and kids.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

My friend test rode the 3.0 and put in an order for the 4.0, large, step-thru.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Can anyone tell me clearly if the Como 3.0 is a 28 mph class bike. I’ve seen several places that say that it is but Ive seen some things that say it is not. I can’t find a clear statement on the Specialized site, and Specialized takes a couple of days to get back to you. A friend wants to buy...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I have a small. A friend who rode mine is thinking of getting one. She thought my small was not too small but usually rides a bigger bike than I.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Do you think someone 5’8” who wanted a Como would be better off with the small or medium low entry frame?

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Rode my Como up a mountain today. It’s a pass I have climbed many times on other bikes. Wanted to see how the Como did on a 3 mile sustained climbing of 6-8% grade. It did great. I climbed most of the way in sport mode but switched to turbo the last quarter mile. Rode 6-8 mph. I did the climb...

Nothing wrong with that. It all depends what you value. Sometimes the extra expense is just that, extra expense. But sometimes one can be penny wise but pound foolish.

Rad makes bikes that hit price points. I think they are brilliant at figuring out the market. I see a lot of Rad bikes on the street. Don’t kid yourself there are a myriad of refinements on more expensive bikes. You may or may not value them but things like higher quality brakes or derailleur or...

    Rad Bikes for heavy rider

You would be over the recommended limit for all but the Radwagon. You would most likely be fine on the Radrunner. you should avoid the mini as the folding frame is not as robust. It would be more prudent to go with the wagon. Bikes will generally do fine over the recommended weight but be more...

i can change the tire on most bikes in 10-15 minutes. To change the tire on my rear hub bike requires the right wrench to get off the tire, cutting the zip ties that hold the wires in place, disconnecting the motor, then after changing the tire it requires the same in reverse. It means carrying...

    Narrowing down to three Choices

I am 68 with some hip deterioration issues. I need a step thru frame. Most of my life I could easily ride a bike with a cross bar. But I can no longer easily throw my leg over the seat. very hard to change tires with a rear hub.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I got my Como 4.0 about a month ago. Already 500 miles on it. Fabulous bike! I’ve had several ebikes going back to 2007, and I’ve had many other bikes. Some very high quality bikes. This Como is just superb. Very smooth and solid feeling. Rides like a truly high quality bike. I do have a...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

The difference in posture between the Como and Vado is not going to make a marked difference in climbing a hill. A suspension fork on the Como is unnecessary as there is not that much weight on the front wheel. Better not to have it to save weight and simplicity. The Como does benefit from...

Specialized Como 4.0 v. Electra Vale Go! 9D EQ

Townie is crank forward flat foot design. More upright even than Como. Not as efficient; harder on the knees and seat. Como is more like a lot of comfort bikes. A little more weight on the arms. A little less pressure on the seat (but I did add a Thudbuster seatpost). I think the Como is a...

Specialized Como 4.0 v. Electra Vale Go! 9D EQ

The specialized como is hands down a much better bike. I have a como and it is a quality solidly built bike. I used to have an Electra townie it was a terrible frame, bucket of rattle-y bolts. Also the como geometry is much better - more versatile.
