    Fazua in the USA

I test rode the Cannondale Synapse Neo SE (their all road version) and loved it so I bought one. It uses the less aggressive Bosch Active Line Plus motor coupled with a Bisch Powertube 500wh battery. This past Saturday I did a 35 mile ride with 2, 444 feet of climb and finished with...

    Fazua in the USA

Thank you , Mike. Can you, or any other reader, share what brands carry class 1 road bikes with 500wh batteries?

Let's Develop a cycling club policy on e-road bikes

I agree with you, but as I commented to the person after you, I need to change it from safety concern to an issue on the road of legality, which is an issue in a number of states in the US. I am trying to use a policy to cleanly integrate ebikes with a club whose board is generally not in...

Let's Develop a cycling club policy on e-road bikes

On the throttle issue, we believe that they will be banned in NJ, where I am from, and suspect that may be the case in many states. I agree that limited to 20mph, they perhaps pose less of a threat than a class 3, but this is more conforming with law than just safety. A noted edit to be made to...

    Fazua in the USA

Hey folks, Just got an update directly from Fazua. Expect to see their drives in bikes hitting the US shores in late autumn 2019.

    Fazua in the USA

I started a new thread for a cycling club policy under Electric Bike Guides, Resources to see if we can elicit a lot more feedback/input.

Let's Develop a cycling club policy on e-road bikes

I have developed a proposed policy for a US cycling club. I would like feedback and any edits you may suggest. Let's also make it global (25 kph on class 1 speed and 45kph on class 3). PLease post whatever you have or can suggest. Proposed E-bike Policy Members of the Morris Area Freewheelers...

    Fazua in the USA

All very good points. Perhaps a perfect e-road bike solution would be class 1 limit of 20mph but with a mid-drive size battery - 500wh - to give us the range we need. I would love a mild assist (ebikemotion, Fazua) but with a lager battery to support long rides! Here is the policy I proposed...

    Fazua in the USA

Believe it or not, my cycling club, despite my concrete arguments against it, has decided to ban class 3 pedelecs (Trek Domane +) because they go 28 mph, not 20.

    Fazua in the USA

I wasn't trying to be argumentative, just stating the advantages as I see them. I can't get a clear answer when they will be available in the US. I have heard anything from July to 2021. That doesn't give me a warm feeling. Based on my test ride experience with the Orbea though, I don't thinik I...

    Fazua in the USA

The huge advantages to the Fazua system are: Thru axle or quick release rear - ebikemotion requires you to carry a wrench as they are bolts With a rear hub motor, you can't just decide to upgrade to carbon wheels on your own Unles you buy a second hub (expensive since that is the motor), you...

    Orbea Gain E-Road Bike

I finally got to test drive and aluminum AllRoad this past Sunday. The bike rode beautifully and was quick even with the motor turned off. The bike looked great, too! Now to the not so good. As Over50 said, the interface is almost unsafe. There are three power levels and off. You start at green...

    Fazua in the USA

The differentiator is that with the Fazua system, the battery, motor and controller are removeable. You can carry a spare battery or two and easily replace midride. That's what gives it a huge advantage over the ebikemotion system found in Orbea, Bianchi and others.

    New Bosch emtb motor

You have to search hard to find it, and there is still no real description. Wouldn't it be great if this was on all e-road bikes?

    New Bosch emtb motor

Here is the brief quote from Bosch - It also features a backpedal function which helps you to brake without wearing down your pads. Translation - it uses the motor to slow the bike, similar to a Chevy Bolt. However, I don't believe it has a regen function, as in adding a slight charge to the...

    New Bosch emtb motor

Definitely not the TQ motor. That motor looks impressive, but with a $2K price premium, too rich for my blood.

    New Bosch emtb motor

I am talking about the CX replacement! A Bosch insider told me that July/August was a good timeframe, but would that be 2020's or last rung of 2019's; which wouldn't make much sense.
