    Settling seat post???

I had a similar issue, here is what I tried: 1. tightening down the seat-post clamp above recommended torque. Not recommended, made problem better but didn't completely fix it. 2. wipe off grease from tube and use recommended clamp torque. This seemed to work, but without any lube it started...

    bicycle carrier for Turbo Vado?

I got the Kuat NV 2, which works the same way as the Thule T1. My bike has fenders, so what I do is put the front clamp lightly on the fender (I have a pretty solid metal fender) then buy a nice Velcro strap and strap down the front wheel. Adding the front strap really secures down the bike a...

    Age demography for members.

I knew I was one of the younger ones at 28, but didn't realize this forum was so 50+ bias. I guess it makes sense because most people my age (including me) can ride a regular bike just fine, so there is less of a need for e-bikes. I have gotten a few comments like "you don't need an e-bike...

    Seat Height

The seat post is held in by a clamp, which should look something like this. That picture is a quick release, yours might require a tool to work. Simply loosen the clamp, move the seat post up/down, and re tighten it.

Thanks. I think I am going to give this one a try, I would prefer to have some extra room so that I can still ride and not risk damaging the tire if the wheel does come out of true a little. I think it will also make mounting the tire a bit easier.

Thanks. I wouldn't normally ask this, but can you please confirm that's the right model? I looked at this one before and took measurements. It says it can accommodate 63mm wide tires, and I measured the super commuter at about 60. The problem area I saw is the fender, which is about 68mm wide...

Which Abus frame lock did you get? I was looking for one but wasn't sure if it would clear the large fenders and tires

    SuperCommuter Mods

Thanks, I might give that one a try. It's annoying having to pay for international shipping when the item is probably made in a factory 20 minutes from me ( they list a Sparks NV address), but the only stock seems to be international. How long did it take to get your package from Germany to the...

    SuperCommuter Mods

Thanks. Unfortunately that link, and the product itself, is nowhere to be found on the site. The only place I can find it in stock is Hibike, and it will be close to $50 with currency conversion and international shipping to the USA... I did go ahead and send Revolution an email to ask if they...

As a fellow super commuter 8 owner, I am really interested in getting the suspension handlebar stem. Problem is, that mount you used is out of stock, so I was wondering if it's possible to use the mount that came with the bike, integrated into the top clamp of the stem, with the redshift stem.

Ebike counting ... how many today?

I've only seen one so far outside of bike shops, it was a recumbent 3-wheeler at a road opening event. Days before the road opened they allowed people to run/walk/bike the road. I did try looking for ebikes, but only saw that one. I use Strava, and I like looking at the at the flybys. If you...

class 3 commuter bikes that can actually go 28 mph with some luggage?

Class 3 really means pedal assist from 21mph up to 28mph, doesn't mean it must hit 28mph.

    Rude remarks by non-ebikers

I've gotten a few "cheater" remarks from friends, but mostly as a joke though. I've passed a few road cyclists and talked to quite a few cyclists and coworkers, and so far those who did respond have responded positively or with curiosity. It was actually a road cyclist coworker who gave me the...

class 3 commuter bikes that can actually go 28 mph with some luggage?

A Bosch performance speed motor equipped bike should get you up to 28mph. On my Trek Super Commuter 8 I can go 28mph with some effort. The assist does gradually reduce the closer you get to 28mph, I think around 26mph is when I can tell it's reducing the assist a bit. In Turbo (level 4/4), it's...

Late-Life intro to bikes? (Fear of bikes...)

Court actually made a video on "How to ride a bike", so if your wife isn't scared because of cars/traffic, and its just a personal confidence thing, then this might be a good place to start. And as others have mentioned, a trike or even recumbent ebike might be something to consider. You also...

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

If you aren't working as hard you should sweat less, right? In the mornings I let the bike do most of the work, and while I do still sweat a little, it's not nearly enough to warrant a shower. When I get to work I change clothes, fix my hair, apply a little extra deodorant, and I get to work. In...

    Help me out here

My bike's computer, with a 500wh battery, says I could get 60 miles. To get that though, I need to be on level ground, ~15mph, and the lowest assist level. If using a low assist level with a 700-1,000wh battery, I could believe the 100-150 mile range. As others have said it's probably not worth...
