Flashing Headlamp On E-Bike During Daytime Rides

I will often run a steady burn headlamp, that is mounted on my helmet, when I ride in the daytime. I have been giving some thought to moving up to a headlamp that flashes. Is anybody here using a flashing headlamp in the daytime? Does it help you get noticed more than a steady burn headlamp?

So what's your other hobbies or interests?

While that may be true for you, that is not true for everybody, at least not for me. I retired the first time at age 50 with 29 years of service with a defined-benefit pension. I knew I wasn't ready for the rocking chair, yet, so I did another 6 years of service in a different organization...

Where To Vacation With Paved Bicycle Trails, E-Bike Rentals & Nearby Lodging?

My wife and I started e-biking a year ago. We live in Minnesota. She mentioned recently that she would like to find a place to vacation at that has paved bicycle trails, e-bike rentals and nearby lodging? The URL just happens to be the first thing that I looked at when I Googled this. She (we)...

A really good handle bar cell phone mount?

I always thought that the cell phone mount was pretty much for navigation and entertainment, but I suppose the "Ride" apps are popular.

Gazelle Ultimate C380+ Schwalbe Energizer Plus Tires

My wife and I have the Gazelle Ultimate C380+ e-bikes that have Schwalbe Energizer Plus tires. I used my Milwaukee M12 compact Inflator to add air, but I wasn't too happy with the Presta adapter that comes with he Milwaukee inflator. Anyway, can anybody here recommend a suitable bike pump...

Winter Is Coming - Biking in Cold Weather

I rode about 10 miles yesterday. I was careful to find mainly snow free areas on the road and multi-use paths. The part of me that got cold was right above my eyes! I wore a balaclava and a helmet, as well as sun glasses, but the area above my eyes did get cold, so I very well may wear goggles...

Winter Is Coming - Biking in Cold Weather

I rode this morning for about 10 miles. The Twin Cities Minnesota area took a temperature drop yesterday. It was probably 30 degrees when I rode. I did pretty well, but I realize that I may want to consider some warmer socks for riding when it is cooler. What I wore today is a wool blend and...

Winter Is Coming - Biking in Cold Weather

I rode yesterday. Or course, it isn't winter, yet. It is just autumn. The air temperature was about 36 degrees Fahrenheit, so not terrible at all. There is no snow cover and the winds were relatively calm. Yes, it was nice to get out for about an hour ride. Once there is snow cover, I really...

Winter Is Coming - Biking in Cold Weather

I am looking for some wind resistant/water resistant pants for late fall biking in Minnesota. What are some that people here use and like.

    Lights Save Lives

Your post prompted me to review the Minnesota Statutes Chapter 169, since I live in Minnesota. It looks to me as if M.S. 169.222 OPERATION OF BICYCLE specifically does permit a white flashing signal. MS 199.222 Subd. Subd. 6 (c) A bicycle may be equipped with a front lamp that emits a white...

    Lights Save Lives

I bought e-bikes for my wife and I this past spring. The accessories I added very quickly were: Rear view mirror Headlamp Taillamp Ours have integrated head an taillights, but the ones I added are so much better. I also added another accessory that some here may think is quirky. I already...

Ultimate C380+ Belt Tension And Tire Wear

I bought a pair of Ultimate C380+ for my wife and I this past spring. I only have about 1200 miles on mine, so far. Typically, when should I think about replacing the OEM tires? I Googled this and the answers seem to be all over the place. We typically ride on pavement. Also, should I...

Additional Battery For Gazelle Ultimate C380+

We rode 46 miles on Sunday. I rode in ECO mode most of the time. I, like you, use more battery than my wife. We also talked about trading batteries during the ride, but we didn't. I would like the ability to ride farther and/or faster, but given the cost of batteries, I am having second thoughts.
