    Question on 'dropped chain'?

I had this happen twice during the break-in period. Both times when either going into the lowest (easiest) gear or going from the lowest to the next gear. My dealer did an adjustment and changed the chain as well at no cost to me. It hasn't happened since but I am careful not to go into the...

"Eventually, an experienced mate pulled the chain out from the slit the proper way, and I could continue the ride." So, what is the "proper"way? And did you figure out why the chain dropped? This happened to me twice last summer on my TV 4.0EQ SRAM 11 speed. Each time it took about 20...

Has anyone else installed a chain catcher on their Vado Sl and if so where is it installed and how is it working? Any downsides to installing one?

Thanks. Just took a look and saw the button and confirmed how it works. Good to know. Still I did scratch the paint slightly getting it out. Seems like a design flaw.

A question: I have the Vado Sl 4.0 EQ with Shift Levers Sram NX, 11-speed, multi-shift; Chain KMC X11eT, 11-speed. I was riding up a hill I believe in the lowest gear in "sport" mode when the chain came off. I had a devil of a time getting it back on. I couldn't get the front of the chain...

I lowered the pressure to 50psi today and noticed a significant comfort improvement. It would be great if some of the more experienced riders on the forum were to read the rene herse cycles study you referenced as it seems to contradict common belief about correct psi and risks of flats.

I have the Vado SL 4.0 EQ stepthrough which I got in April. Here are a couple of photos of the reflector on my bike which is attached to the handlbar. Probably redundant given the front light is always on. But it isn't in the way and doesn't bother me.

How fast do you want to go? I have the 11 speed step-through and had no problem hitting 31mph down a hill of about 6-8% grade, and I wasn't in the highest gear.

Hi, relatively new to the forum. Can you explain how one sends a private message to another member? Also, is there a way to receive an email notification solely for responses to ones particular post within a thread as opposed to getting emails anytime someone adds a comment to the particular...

I've had the situation where the motor briefly cut out when I have accidentally gone into too low a gear and so am pedaling against essentially no resistance. The new Vado Sl have SRAM thumb shifters which are both one way so I have sometimes mixed them up coming from a bike with twist shifters.

Hi, A couple of questions: is there a way to send a private message to another member? Is there a setting where one gets notified if someone responds to one's particular post as opposed to getting emails when someone adds to a forum. I was getting multiple emails every day when people were...

As I don't use a range extender I have the bottle cage on the mounts on the battery compartment so no interference from a bottle stepping over. If one uses a range extender only occasionally it might still make sense to put the water bottle on the lower tube.

That's a good point. According to Redshift the maximum insertion to the clamp is 90mm ( 3.54"). I'm 5'7 1/2 so I think I would be ok. My seat top is 26" from the center of the crank, I believe, (I'm not at home to measure). Here's a photo. Can anyone infer if I would be ok?

The Rene Here article with their tests is very interesting. It's counter to current wisdom on tire pressure. Have you hit any potholes at 50 psi?

My LBS suggested 70psi for my Vado Sl 4.0 EQ. I've lowered it to 60 front 65 rear. But I'd like to try lower pressure just worried about a flat if I hit a pothole. Here's a link to a Specialized website for pressure by weight for Turbo Como which is a lot heavier than the Vado...

I have a simple spring "Post Moderne" on a 20 year old Cannondale hybrid. I can switch that post with the Vado and see if it makes a difference. Can I ask what springs you use for the Redshift and what you weigh? ( Sorry to get so personal). I weigh 160 with hopes of getting down to 155!

"But because at least 60% of rides is on tarmac I don't want or need suspension" A few weeks ago I got the Vado Sl 4.0 step-through. I ride 100% on tarmac and was wondering if a suspension seat post would do anything. Perhaps if it were set very soft? The country roads around me are...
