    My Surly Karate Monkey conversion.

@Brambor ...that color is excellent. It's $60 to sand blast and powder coat a frame in Chattanooga, so no worries there. 20 mph is fast on trails... maybe too fast. I've been going out on a Felt Lebowske on the trails and I love the speed that the fat tires roll downhill. It's kinda like...

    My Surly Karate Monkey conversion.

I went with they new "Ops" version. I like the spray tan color which allows you to see the welding. I think I'm going to try an Instigator with my next build, as i haven't been adept at riding a 29er on the trail. See above for proof. That said, I have been getting better an it's a total...

    My Surly Karate Monkey conversion.

As Ann said above. I'm a really big fan of my Bionx build. If you're going with a D-Series, you'll need to order up a blocker based on what angle your dropouts are. This will allow the torque sensor sync to your power. The D-Series also has unique spokes if you where to hand build a motor...

Weirdly, my new hydration pack broke my fall on that log. Nothing too bad (maybe a cracked rib). It's raining today, so no worries staying in.

    steel ebike frames

My buddy's hand built steel frames: http://silentcycles.com/ He's proved to me that you can build incredibly light steel frames. Purdy goood lookin' ones too. I'm working on getting him to do some ebikes.

What level did you have it in? Did you adjust the level 2 settings?

    The Outfitter Has Arrived

    The lebowske is freakishly light.

@Ravi Kempaiah, I fully expect you to ride that thing all the way to Chattanooga.

Motiv Sleek for retired 62 yr Female, 5'7" recreational use

I often ride Motivs. We have a rental fleet with them. They're great. Not my style, personally, but probably my favorite throttle-only bike. You definitely wouldn't want shocks on this bike. The frame and tires do enough. That said, thubbusters are a huge upgrade on the seat post shock.

Motiv Sleek for retired 62 yr Female, 5'7" recreational use

Hey Mary, I really like the motivs. They've been extremely reliable, no warranties at all. They have tons of power at 36v and I've travelled 39 miles through hilly terrain with the 15 AH battery. No need for the 48v, really. Path+ and EVO Eco lite are good upgrades for pedal assist as...

    My Surly Karate Monkey conversion.

I've yet to find a fender that I really like. SKS was okay, but everything falls apart on single track. I did hear Archie make contact with the tire once, over a year ago, when I was training him. Definitely never happened again. If it does rain, then I just close the dog convertible. That...

    My Surly Karate Monkey conversion.

So I've taken my Karate Monkey Ops and done a d-series conversion on it. I may have slightly over done the accessories: -Cygolite lights -Thudbuster -Walkydog -Burly tailwagon -axiom journey rack - o-stand kickstand - rack cushion - sherfas sheriff rear tire. -panaracer Cedric Garcia front...

    My E-Joe Epik SE

Easy, @Ann M.! Don't be such an Ecoreco hater. Have you tried it? Tossing a 250w motor onto 8" wheels significantly increases the torque. I was able to go up the 3-4 story straight ramp at interbike an Ecoreco without help, (something I didn't expect of most of the ebikes). I was blown...

    My E-Joe Epik SE

I was thinking the Tern as well. The bionx system is lovely and you will certainly appreciate the torque sensor for exercise. I've been a epic SE owner in the past, and I've tried the tern, too. I love the Epic SE and think it's one of the best values out there, period. You'll probably be...

    My E-Joe Epik SE

42 lbs. Not super easy, but it'll work if it's going next to the door. Definitely can't be stowed above. It can't easily be rolled while folded.

    Custom Conversion vs Stock.

Here's a hobbyist that came in over the weekend. This isn't what I had in mind when I said "custom build ups", but it obviously applies. BBS02 48 v (maybe) 40ah. He gets 80-100 miles a charge. He had also mentioned some possible "chemical fires" along the way.

    Custom Conversion vs Stock.

Yeah, as a shop that has traditionally cracked open motors and batteries, it's interesting working with Bionx, who insist on doing remote diagnostics from their HQ. It's very cool technology (and maybe a little wasteful). The systems know the entire history of the bike. BH and Bosch are doing...

    We are Motiv Electric Bikes

@Surfcitytom, adjusting the angle with a hex key is a good place to start. You might hit up your local bike shop for a saddle that's better suited to your needs.
